Well I used to earn money and buy a lot of Nicole Farhi clothing, mostly because the woman I love's name is Nicole and she seems to love ad exec types and because I was insecure and buying overly expensive and hard to clean clothing made me feel better.
Now I'm skint I've found Zara A chainstore that every item I have bought so far from has been manufactured in a different country (spread the wealth) A chainstore that I can buy a suit that is more than smart enough for my second job (Host/Door Whore/Greeter at an 'exclusive' bar) for £130 (Eur 130 in Portugal) and a decent summer shirt for £30/Eur30. Not to mention the leather accessories (good wallet £16, nice belt £14). Perhaps the best thing (or worst if you are grumpy) about these stores (besides the redistribution of wealth by using foreign manufacturing bases) is how flexible they are. They employ loads of young designers who beaver away comeing up with lines, the hold little stock of stuff in case it doesn't sell, and they can scrap a line in a week and replace it with a new one from another one of their designers. This is genius and though it might be done for the wrong reasons I can't complain at being able to buy good quality, 'fashionable' clothing at bargain basement prices. Bring it on Zara P.S. thanks for making me walk through a couple of floors of womens clothes to get to the mens bit, it always cheers me to pass so many women at one of their favourite past-times not to mention the varois stages of undress one can encounter on a 'good' day!
