However its rare to see this today on the BBC!This is because the trouble with mainstream British politics today is there's nothing to distinguish between New Labour, the Tories and Lib Dems and if representatives of each were put on air together this fact would be soon borne out to all listeners or viewers! This would undermine the position of political journalists who do their utmost to convince the credulous masses there is a difference!The problem with the likes of Cameron and the rest in the Tory Party is they can't be too critical of New Labour because if anything the government is more right wing than themselves and to attack them would really be attacking themselves!The apathy that is electorally created couldn't have been highlighted better than your Prison Officer caller. He said he always voted Labour but would never do so again but would like to vote for the Tories but is not sure because he doesn't know where they stand on key issues! In other words he feels he's got to vote for somebody and whilst he says he was Labour he obviously had no idea what the party used to stand for otherwise he wouldn't have dreamt of asking Cameron for a reason to vote Tory.Negative equity in the housing market is well established.
