If no one envies anyone else's position (the capital they own, the labour they sell, what they earn - as a bundle) then everything must be hunky dory in Tory happy land.Except that others will be far better off than you - and you won't envy them in Tory happy land. How so?Well...............You'll be persuaded that everyone had the same chance in life - opportunity is equal for all. So that that you're a loser shows you're no good at the valuable, income generated life skills. So you wouldn't, in any real sense, be able to sell the more highly paid labour anyway. You haven't got the skills. You're not good enough. So you can't be envious can you? If you had gone to university, you too could have been a doctor. And done good and got well paid for it.So that's how Osbourne and co will square the circle.Check out the irrelevance of supply and demand theory from the point of view of losers. It doesn't matter how they price themselves, they can't become doctors 'cos there just aren't the places in the medical schools - slots in the production system - for them. The losers aren't allowed to do good at any price. David McKiernan, the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, for three U.S. brigades with support staff has been approved. "Now that means we just need to figure out a way to get them there," adds a senior defense official."Reminds me of an update from Tom Paxton:"George W. told the nation,"This is not an escalation. This is just a surge toward victory.Though it isn't really war,We're sending twenty thousand more,To help save Iraq from Iraqese.""Plus ca change...;-)ed Wed 20 Aug 2008 14:14:54 GMT+1 mygloriousleader http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/pm/2008/08/the_glass_box_for_olympic_wedn_1.shtml?page=8#comment1 Picky picky Wed 20 Aug 2008 14:13:50 GMT+1 Thunderbird http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/pm/2008/08/the_glass_box_for_olympic_wedn_1.shtml?page=0#comment0 Sailing is so last week!
