As a student of climate change, I'm surprised you would mention it today. Mon 02 Jun 2008 07:51:11 GMT+1 Thunderbird You mmay have just given the world the solution it has been looking for. Just deny cars to the poor, they never keep them clwean anyway.Demand for petrol goes down and so does the price...... Fantastic. This may cause a problem with tax revenue but hey.... Live and let drive ! Sun 01 Jun 2008 11:03:06 GMT+1 BoiledBunny Having listened to Eddie on Any Answers I think that woman that had locked herself out and said 'Poor people don't have cars, and if they did they would probably be small economical ones anyway' should get a weekly guest slot on PM.Isn't having a car and being able to travel and attend activities one way people can get themselves up and out? Sun 01 Jun 2008 06:20:17 GMT+1 Thunderbird I wouldn't shout too loud about your smelly tax free fuel option.... Mr darling has big ears and might just take some interest Sat 31 May 2008 16:28:35 GMT+1 PhilT off to the shops for some more vegge oil for the diesel car then. 85p/litre, no VAT, no fuel duty. Up yours, Darling ! Fri 30 May 2008 16:11:33 GMT+1 Genfly Isn’t it a little strange that the BBC’s ‘environmental Kate Adie’ David Shukman failed to mention the fact that over 31,000 scientists, including 9,000 PhD’s have now signed the so-called Oregon Petition rejecting the IPCC line on climate change, as most of the world’s press were present when this was announced to a packed National Press Club in Washington DC just two weeks ago? Of course most of NASA’s and the Russia’s top space scientists have always rejected IPCC claim that man-made CO2 is the root of all climate evil, as over 98 per cent of the CO2 present in the atmosphere has always occurred quite naturally over the last million years or so. Fri 30 May 2008 12:37:29 GMT+1 Big Sister Of course, with fewer cars on the road, it will be a lot easier to cycle. I'd go for that!
