The bacon roll was excellent but so are most, and while enjoying it and contemplating an inevitable nother, we noted a wee sign, "This is the cafe...";-) Thu 03 Jun 2010 12:32:12 GMT+1 U14450706 8. Fifi"Its passing is I suppose inevitable - but sad."Well said. Thu 03 Jun 2010 12:28:39 GMT+1 Fearless Fred Stewart (9) At least the Cheers pub is still a bar/restaurant, with reasonable beer and some good (if slightly over-priced) food... Thu 03 Jun 2010 12:28:38 GMT+1 Stewart_M I once endured the coach tour round Holmfirth with my parents (I hasten to add). You can imagine the thing. This is Nora Batty's Front door, That is Compo's welly, This is the hill where, in episode 376, the bath slid off the back of the lorry with a naked Mr Armathwaite inside. This is the wall where in episode 3452 Great aunty Netherwhallop, fell off her bike and did an amusing somersault into a hay stack. etc etc etc.The question is will its passing help or hinder Yorkshire Tourist trade?Do people still visit the Cheers pub in Boston? Thu 03 Jun 2010 12:25:19 GMT+1 Fifi I certainly won't miss LOTSW but my mum and lots of her generation will. Its gentle silliness harks back to a simpler time and sense of fun that most of us here may struggle to remember, let alone relate to. Its passing is I suppose inevitable - but sad. Thu 03 Jun 2010 10:24:21 GMT+1 Sid Mac - if you want some extra tutoring for spelling, I'll give you a hand ... we could start with 'desperate'. You obviously never did Latin at school. Wed 02 Jun 2010 22:16:05 GMT+1 Big Sister Thank heavens! though I know it does appeal to a certain sector (won't be clearer than that as I wouldn't want to offend P.Nutt), for me it is, and has ever been, a total waste of air time. Wed 02 Jun 2010 21:51:00 GMT+1 Fearless Fred Can I echo Jonnie's #1? I remember being bored by it as a kid 30+ years ago. There's only so many times you can recycle the same joke.... Wed 02 Jun 2010 19:33:24 GMT+1 DiY Tut, Tut jonnie! One man's meat is another man's poison!I for one have really enjoyed LOTSW over the years.Far more suitable for general viewing across all age groups as compared to a lot of the Saturday evening dross that the BBC serves up these days. Wed 02 Jun 2010 18:23:27 GMT+1 GotToTheEnd Try Desparate Housewives tonight.Cleggie and Camero the Lib Dem con men. They'll run and run....we hope. Wed 02 Jun 2010 16:38:25 GMT+1 jonnie What we'd really like the BBC to confirm is if Torchwood and the lovely handsome John Barrowman will be returning anytime soon? Can you use your influence and consult someone on our behalf please Eddie? Wed 02 Jun 2010 16:08:04 GMT+1 jonnie Thank the Almighty! An announcement that was 37 years overdue.... Wed 02 Jun 2010 16:06:03 GMT+1
