Good for browning the top of macaroni cheese or fish pie. Unfortunately the grill part stopped working about 6 years ago, rest of it just refuses to die though. We had to have the microwavey thingies (forget what they were called, but very expensive & dangerous things, apparently) replaced some years ago too, which was expensive, but having done that, it looks set to last for ever! A bit crunchy on top but bound to be good for the cold weather. I'll leave them on the bar.I don't use the combi bit very often because the instruction manual appears to have been translated from the Korean by someone who speaks neither English nor Korean. The temperature setting also seems to be on its own unique scale and changes every time. By way of explanation, "The element of heating is hiding in the ceiling." I actually thought about going to sleep there and then. I felt deliciously warm and the icy waters seemed so welcoming.Whyever go back to an over-heated room and sit in front of a roaring fire when I could help save the planet by enjoying endless hyperthermic sleep. For me the joy of sea swimming is that on a clear day you can swim forever. Like jogging endless distances, minutes become hours, miles become days, the whole journey a lifetime passage**.But before the woman I'd left walking lonely on the tide line had to run in to the water 'heart full of fear' I heard her voice above the breakers. At first she seemed like a silkie to me, a fellow creature of the deep. Then as I awoke from my watery reverie, the voice became wholly hers. I turned away from the cold swell and headed back to her arms.I shivered that I loved her and gave her chattering kisses as we laughed together at the six oyster catchers who ran frantically to and fro chasing and chased by centimetre high waves, right there on the shore line, their red bills deep-piercing the cold wet sand, between their infantry-fast marches in and out of the water. As it was Saturday, they said that they would send somebody on Monday. The police weren't interested either. I went to both places in person. I then got a plastic bag from a market stall and picked it up myself, which was a bit dangerous. I then took it to the office of a local newspaper because they seemed interested when I phoned.
