This is Formula 1 not Super Mario Kart! What will we get next year, Banana drop technology? The best thing to do abotu getting more overtaking is get rid of all that fancy rubbish on the front wings, which I thought had been outlawed two seasons ago, and reduce the size of the cars brakes. Smaller brakes would mean longer braking zones so a bigger differance between late brakers and early brakers, more lines around corners and actully make it saver as cars would go off the track a bit slower if they get the braking wrong. Mon 07 Feb 2011 07:57:35 GMT+1 shimtoan @GavelaaBrawn did NOT run KERS in 2009. IIRC Mclaren had the best KERS that season, although Williams had been developing a flybrid (I think) for use in other series throughout last season, which may give them an advantage Sat 05 Feb 2011 04:45:14 GMT+1 awowzer all the teams seemed to have reached similar conclusions for the nosecone in their windtunnels under this set of rules. i have known a season where EVERY single team from front to back has a near identical nose style. the high very wide flattened out noisecone similar to mclaren's nosecone last season. i wonder if the similar aerodynamic interpretations will result in a close grid? Sat 05 Feb 2011 01:32:17 GMT+1 Gavelaa "Ferrari, Renault and Red Bull ran smoothly while Mercedes reported their Kers system was behind some of their teething problems, even though Mercedes had the most reliable when it was last deployed in 2009."Am I missing something, but didn't Brawn not have KERS in 2009? Fri 04 Feb 2011 22:05:06 GMT+1 Lewis Standing really excited for the season, although think it had enough intrigue without the changeable wing, seems unnecessary with KERS and the new tires there would have been plenty changes to keep us all interested. Fri 04 Feb 2011 18:20:59 GMT+1 franksm1 All i want to see is wheel to wheel action from all the drivers. This year could go down as being the best ever. Can't wait for the first race to start. We could see anyone of 7 drivers win the crown. Fri 04 Feb 2011 17:17:56 GMT+1 Bru72 The new McLaren sidepods look very much like those on the 1992 Ferrari F1 car! Fri 04 Feb 2011 14:28:45 GMT+1 Its a fair Kop The McLaren MP4-26 was an absolute stunner! I hope Jenson and Lewis have a great journey in that car (or the 20-ish cars based on the model). In my opinion, I honestly don't expect Ferrari to do well this year. I think Mercedes & Renault will leap-frog them. Fri 04 Feb 2011 13:59:13 GMT+1 Ian Lowson First season in years that I've bothered to be interested in testing.Would be nice to see a Force India win at Spa. Third time lucky guys! In 2009, Alonso, Kubica & Hamilton all have driven with a KERS car but were beaten by Button and Vettel in slippery cars! The drivers to remain in the same team with a KERS car are Hamilton and Massa! Got to give an advantage to them to begin with.Rear Wing New for everyone!God only knows what Schumi's steering wheel look like!! Fri 04 Feb 2011 13:57:53 GMT+1 Bestyboy Now thats an interesting looking car !! - Good work Mclaren, Now, get it on track and going quickly. Looking forward to seeing more of it and hearing more about the innovations involved. Looks unlike anything else out there at the minute and hopefully thats a good thing. Also, pleased to hear Jenson being positive about the new Pirellis - hopefully they dont develop them too far away from Jenson's style and we can see him joing Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso and Webber up front. Fri 04 Feb 2011 13:16:06 GMT+1 U14537907 Justa quick note. It wasn't Mercedes KERS unit which was last run in 2008, it was VMM KERS unit designed by Zytek and I would be very surprised if 3 years, almost, down the line, it was even remotely similar; these technologies tend to evolve at a seriously quick rate in their early life.I am genuinely excited about this season. Let's hope it isn't another false dawn for F1 Fri 04 Feb 2011 13:06:11 GMT+1 steve mcclarens new car is beautiful, reminds me of Donald Campbells bluebird that broke the speed record Fri 04 Feb 2011 12:43:00 GMT+1 tj The tryes are going to help Jenson providing the car is easyish on its tyres as well. Looking forward to the first race, although as it is a Tikle track, am not hopefull for a great race! Fri 04 Feb 2011 12:34:20 GMT+1 TJLM The prospect of having FIVE teams (McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, Renault) all in with a chance of competing at the top is very exciting. Hopefully the Pirelli tyres will be rubbish so we get exciting races, haha.I for one cannot wait. Fri 04 Feb 2011 12:16:57 GMT+1 Viks Sarah.. Any news about Schumi? How does he rate the Pirelli tyres? Fri 04 Feb 2011 11:12:12 GMT+1 SamLovesLeeds The Renault car looks so nice and seems to be fast as well. Hoping for it to be very competitive in the new season Fri 04 Feb 2011 10:46:30 GMT+1 nlygo looking good for jenson then! Fri 04 Feb 2011 10:37:21 GMT+1
