One recommendation would be to have the ability to show large format pictures along the lines of MSNBC Photos http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4999736/and Boston.com "Big Picture" http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/. These have much better impact where the focus is very much on the picture telling the story rather than the text.
