I often indulge in a little Radion 4 - even if you are not actively listening, there is something reassuring about 'adult conversation' in the background of your consciousness. Would like to contest the point Rebecca makes about the conversation in the pub not living up to the sophistication of what she was hearing on the wireless. I think that wit and public opinion is just as pertinent in this context. Well, in the first few rounds at least... I thought this would have conjured up memories of Radio 4 being part of a persons youth. Must have just been my own.For as long as I can remember, Radio 4 would be on chronically in the kitchen, from 'Today' to 'The Archers'. Looking back as an adult, I can see the tradition in this simple act, which was no doubt mirrored from my grandparents. This brings a smile to my face anytime I reminisce, and obviously to Rebecca Dalzell'.Having been out of the UK for a few years now, I do miss the meloncholly atmosphere Radio 4 emits, no other radio station I have heard in the world seems to expel an atmoshere quite like Radio 4, if at all.I have always tried to persuade people my age to listen to the station, but alot of the time it falls on def ears, usually because they conclude its for old 'farts' that can't stand pop music. how wrong they are!
