Then, while the kids were 'out', they dismantled mothering - drafting mothers into work. Today institutionalised, de-mothered kids grow like those fruit trees made to conform to a pre-determined shape: cut and wired. Time was when society had a pool of 'allsorts' who matched themselves to challenges arising. Now we have only those who fit the plastic mould of modernity - AND MISFITS. The old way yielded, by default, mavericks, geniuses and - yes - heroes; all three now bred-out, and sorely missed. All we have left is bland, uniform supermarket fruit - and a great deal of rot; not a result of 'the odd rotten apple' - the barrel ITSELF is a rot-promoter. Ed: you, yourself are a product of this process. You work among like-fashioned and like-minded ciphers, perpetuating the error of 'schooling' as opposed to educating IN ITS ROOT SENSE. The ills that now beset us all, arise from endemic immaturity and a fundamental lack of wisdom. Fancy schools, with fancy names housing 'Report Card' kids (don't they sound disturbingly like 'Latch Key kids?) will not give the Earth back its birth-right of respectful guardians. Oh Ed - if only you weren't Ed Balls! Wed 15 Oct 2008 10:22:30 GMT+1 JunkkMale http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/newsnight/petermarshall/2008/10/nationalising_the_banks_and_ce.html?page=40#comment2 2. DUCK! Most CO2 is 'out there somewhere' not unlike most money. CO2 can go up, as well as down.CO2 and money are both ephemeral and, as such, a delight to the devious. World affairs are in the hands of a few ambitious, unscrupulous (especially the ones with religious delusions) desperate wannabes, who not only LIVE within the lie, they bask in its amenity. And (as Ed Balls delivers yet another educational master stroke) our 'leaders' constrain the spirit of Everyman, trapped under the devious banner: 'Arbeit Macht Frei'.
