I'd just like to quote you first."If I made one person go and see Of Time and the city, then I think I’ve justified my existence."Well not only would I not have seen Of Time and the City had you not recommended it, but you have greatly influenced me in the films that I've seen both in the cinema and at home over the last two years. The films of Paul Thomas Anderson, A Mighty Heart, The Mist and My Winnipeg just to name a few. That's not to mention the sublime wittertainment on the 5live show and here on this site. So thanks very much indeed and keep up the great work.Adam McReynolds,Portadown, Co. Armagh. Imagine how I felt when I logged on to my podcasts to find that you haven't reviewed it (hopefully yet). This was not a simple 'love-it or hate-it' film - especially as we took my friend's 16-year old son. Fantastic performances by all, but it left me feeling slightly queasy. Looking forward to hearing your views on Friday - hopefully it will make it to the week's Top Ten. What is with these copycat kids films? The list is huge, but to name a few; A Bugs Life and Antz, Shark Tale and Finding Nemo, Madagascar and The Wild, and currently Inkheart and Bedtime Stories. Which one of you first? I can fight you both together if you want. I can fight you with one paw tied behind my back. I can fight you standing on one foot. I can fight you with my eyes closed. Oh, pull an axe on me, eh? Sneaking up on me, eh? Why, I'll... Ruff!" * Do them on video Mark.* From a much better film than Mary Poppins too.Happy film going in 2009. I'm predicting an 'Aint it cool news' like influx of deliberately inflammatory opinions such as:The Exorcist is a terrible movieThe DA will never, ever look any goodGuillermo del Toro is a rank amateur in the world of movie making.Having got those three out of the way (and may I point out I do not agree with the above opinions), have a very happy new year!
