That is a proper rock film. The lack of shots of the crowd makes you feel like the gig is a polite conversation between you and the band, rather than some kind of bizarre ritual. It's much better than The Last Waltz and proves not just how good a band Talking Heads were at their peak, but also just how underrated Jonathan Demme is as a director. I disagree with you insofar as I think that Silence of the Lambs is better than Manhunter, but I can't wait to see more of Demme's work, especially Rachel Getting Married.Incidentally, on the subject of remakes, what's your opinion on his version of The Manchurian Candidate?
