Englands Performance/Hopes?England by JR-ArsenalFan : Arshavin for president! (U12279350) 06 September 2008 Personally a 2-0 win to Andorra is nothing to be happy about! Ok it was a professional job but the half time boo's at 0-0 are abit to similar to the McClaren days, and again it took 2 goals from a midfielder to secure victory for england against a team who's most capped player is a part time decorater/painter! LCFC-PL-2012 (U12765907) posted Sep 7, 2008 What are you talking about Rooney has gone down hill because of Fergie? The guy has been playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo- (the best player in the world) so how can you say he's gone down hill? Rooney plays a promenant role in the United team- but obviously doesn't all get the plaundits (rightly so) because of the fact Ronaldo is there! He does a lot for the team without getting noticed BECAUSE OF RONALDO!! He has not gone down hill- Ronaldo has just improved massively!

wikidegg (U10963977) posted Sep 7, 2008 ronaldo has got absolutely nothing to do with it, if anything ronaldo doing so well makes rooney look better! and seeing as this is a thread about england, suprisingly my comment was about rooney with england where he hasnt performed in years, and where in my comment did i say BECAUSE of fergie?? i dont think it is fergies fault because hes changed rooney to the player he needs but, IMO rooney is not as exciting as he used to be and has failed to live upto expectations

ItsFootballNotSoccer (U8086166) posted Sep 7, 2008 I think we can take positives from Capello. He didn't pick a team based on what the fans or media wanted, he showed he wasn't afraid to take risks and best of all, he showed he wasn't afraid to criticise big name players.

Andrew Garlick (U7921862) posted Sep 7, 2008 I agree and disagree with this article...Rooney is not a out and out striker, he likes play in front of the midfield just behind the attack...ok I agree he performances have been below par lately and he also upset cappello by dropping back alot in the second half.

whatbill (U2084594) posted Sep 7, 2008 Only problem with the Rooney/Ronaldo situation is that for United, Rooney is expected to work hard to engineer space and opportunities for Ronaldo (the star player). For england he situation should be different - Rooney is the star player who should be saving his energy and getting in good positions - someone else should be doing his legwork Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have grasped this, hence Capello having a go at him... posted Sep 7, 2008 jayjay1306 (U12492739)
