F1 Direct,
one thing you should keep in mind is that Autounion along with Boiled Bunny Old Boy and Chad (when he doesn't erase my postssmiley
) give us some of the most imformed
coments on this page. Bare in mind that despite his strange fascination with Ferrari he's quite prepared to be objective (unlike the Trolls) and admit that FA will most likely win the WDC.

Believe me I've had my fair share of tiffs with Autounion, but for me his dogmatic eloquence
enriches the debate.

What's this hedging your bets?
I thought Kimi was the love of your life.
Are you a fairweather Kimi fan, or what?>>

I've said for a while that FA was the man for WDC, and I can prove it, it's not a difficult prediction given KR's results. There is no logical entailment between predicting a driver will win the WDC, appreciating their driving ability and supporting them.

So there's no hedging involved. Please try and get your facts right before you cast (attempts at)aspersions.

shoemakerscheat.
not sure about the 'dogmatic' in 'dogmatic eloquence' but hey, Ferrari means getting a lot of deserved flak, so I guess it can be described as a strange fascination (bloody stupid if you'll never own one to boot, but I have an even stranger fascination with Auto Union) and if I do sound dogmatic at times, I apologise. so thanks for the compliment, very kind of you!

"Wow were really bitchin tonight girls "

Not bitchin [well at least i'm not] it's just debating an argument on a public forum.
It's just that auto can give it out, but he can't take it.

"not every driver can be Jim Clark, just jump in anything and drive the wheels of it "
The MP4-22 can hardly be descirbed as anything, anyway I was talking about attitude not driving ability.

It's like you jumped ship pretty quick on Kimi.
I thought, being as you like a gamble, you were hedging your bets. That's all.
There's no need to 'spit the dummy' about it [again]. winkeye

Some of you lot must have blinkers Alonso beat Shoey Two years on the trot. Then he gets a rookey team mate that is on the pace, big shock to the system.I believe everything is rosey(except the prancing horse affair)at Mclaren. They did not win any races last year, what is going on? A great driving team.!!!

Not terribly surprising an English paper is anti-Alonso, is it? After all, one of Alonsos rivals are Brave Batteling Brit, Our Lewis, Brave Lewis, Brave Lewis Lionheart, Hammi, Lewis the Brand or just 'THE Brand'. Alonso on the other hand - for the English - is simply: 'El Whinger'.

One name ALONSO!!

Is all pretty clear. He wins back to back titles at Reanult leaves Reanult and look where
REnault and Fissichela are now. No where to be found. SO as you can see Alonso was great to Fissichela when he was there too.

Then he come to McL who was a loosing team with kimi breaking his cars every other weekend. Alas, now Kimi is at Ferrari and he is doing the same.

So here comes Alonso with all his talent and experience and got Mclaren to be a contender and with his mentoring, tips and wise advise made Lewis what he is right now. Yet McLaren gives ZERo respect and protection to the double champ!
Is that wild or what? tell me other sport that treats their champ and star in such a terrible manners. I dont care how talented Lewis is and how many WC he may win, right now the man is Alonso and no the other way around. Support should go to him instead of making him fight for the tittle agaisnt Ferrari and his rookie teamnate whom he has been guiding all along.

For sure you must be a Brit! is call respect and treating your star and the top dog. No the other way around. You dont hire a double WC for 50 Million euros a year to make him fight with his teammates, the Ferraris and the rest. A champ like that doesnt need all the extra pressure. You protect your best man. do you actually think that Hami is doing so well thanks to his talent alone? HE hee he he! Let me laught till I fall down. What is wrong with you folks in England? Too much rain warped your brains? This rookie is doing so well thanks to all the advice, mentoring and tips given to him by the ALONSO!! I just hope that now Alonso stops been so kind and helpful.
Tell me again, in which sport, you see the rookie trying to walk all over the champ??
But again, I cant remember any champ coming out of the UK in a long long time. So it makes sense that every body goes crazy about Lewis even if the end results would be damaging.

-
I think that this situation is brilliant. Ron Dennis deserves praise for letting his drivers race each other. Now, if Alonso is as good as he seems to think he is, why on earth would he need to be treated as "team-leader"?

No doubt Alonso as the expertise - credit where credit is due and all that but he undoes his good work by being a team wrecker!

What do you want for Alonso, elche2002?

What does Alonso want from the situation he is in - Does he want to be manager? Does he want to be Ron Dennis’ boss?

Typical…

elche2002,

Renault going off the boil has nothing to do with the control tyres eh?

'You dont hire a double WC for 50 Million euros a year to make him fight with his teammates, the Ferraris and the rest. A champ like that doesnt need all the extra pressure. You protect your best man.'

1. It's debatable he's worth that money after Canada and France.

219 Race Laps around that circuit and Alonso turns in a drive like that?

He desreved detention for the rest of the year for that drive.

He was outdriven by Hamilton who has never that circuite before.

'A champ like that doesnt need all the extra pressure.'

erm Pat Symonds who worked with Alonso to get those 2 WDCs said that Alonso could get irrational when beaten by his team mate.

'You protect your best man.'

elche2002, this is Formula 1 not queueing at the Post Office.

Alonso has yet to demonstrate that he is the best man.

Look how good he was at keeping Schumi behind him when he was at Renault. And what did we see on Sunday? Banging wheels with Massa.

So Alonso could keep Schumi behind him, but he couldn't find a way past Massa?

Compare that with Hamilton putting two wheels up on the grass passing the Renault.

Compare that with Hamilon's move past Kubica in France.

I'll repeat my assertion to you again that Alonso made more mistakes in that Candian GP than Hamilton has in his entire season.

sorry shoemaker, had things to do;
Auto Union as in the racing team, 'Auto Union Rennabteilung' (I had to go to wiki to get the full name as well as brush up on NSU) whose cars were designed by Ferdinand Porsche. The company (companies of ) Auto Union were merged with NSU, as noted on your link (cheers for link) to form Volkswagen. (The reason for becoming interested in AU is another story I'll spare you the details of!). I have no strange loyalty to Audi though! (seeing the badge only makes me wish the Auto Union name had lived on, Audi have rebuilt some AU cars, which is nice of them <smile> )
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto_Union
As regards to Fiat, hmmm, granted not as swish somehow but there you go.

then you didnt watch the same race. Massa was the one who banged wheels with alonso. Alosno had nothing ot do with that. He prety much had passed Massa quite clean then massa pulled to the right and the rest is historyl
