I'm in work, are they playing well? How is Jamie settling?

If Rusedski retires after this tie, it will be shame for GB. Greg and Jamie could help a lot Tim and Andy to concentrate only for singles.

Well Ghosting I think Andy and Tim will continue to be focussed on the singles ties.

Replacing Rusedski in the doubles we may see Jamie Delgado, who is floating outside the top 100 in doubles and has partnered with Jamie Murray before to win a challenger event I believe. There is of course the higher-ranked James Auckland who if he and Murray can overcome the fact they play on the same side of the court could also be formidable.

Hmm... Is there a special unwritten rule that I don't know about? Why are the Brit doubles specialists mainly called "James" or "Jamie"???

4th set tie-break and this really is make-or-break for the Dutch as they are just 7 points from losing the tie.

Britain with the early mini break 1-0

A double fault from Jamie makes it 1-1

A missed return from the dutch see GB take a small lead again 2-1*

Haase loses in a volley exchange against Greg 3-1*

A solid volley from Wassen off of Greg's return sees the score go to *3-2

An whizzing return from Wasse is hit back with an incredible reaction volley from Murray *4-2

Another excellent Murray volley winner sees the Brits go 5-2*

A return winner for Murray and it's 6-2*

Greg hits his backhand return to the bottom of the net *6-3

A very close return that's mishit by Haase just lands in as Greg leaves it *6-4

Greg hits a seemingly simple volley long and it's on serve 6-5*

Murray hits a great return and Haase barely gets it back but Greg puts it away.

Murray/Rusedski beat Wassen/Haase 6-1 3-6 6-3 7-6(5)

Reaction to the victory over Holland, thoughts on how Britain will do in the next DC stage, and what are your feelings on the retirement of Greg Rusedski.

Greg announces his retirement, it was to be expected, awwww he looks close to tears.

And the sun sets on a very good career, it was a touch ride for Greg with the drug test and having to live in Tim's shadow for a lot of his career and suffering his fair share of injuries.

But he made a GS final and held the record for the fastest serve for a number of years. 15 titles and such a strong DC player for Britain.

See ya Greg and well done.

Thank you Greg, we are starting to see the transition from one era to another in British tennis.

The Murray's are starting to take the baton from Henman and Rusedski who served British tennis so well and for so long.

It's very sad Greg retires. GB had strong squad for so short time only against Holland. He had great career and his determination for GB DC was exemplary. His style was also unique. Best wishes to him!

I have thoroughly enjoyed watch Greg play tennis and congragulate him on a great career!!

However, he makes it sound like it was a chore for him...

'I'm retired now, I can enjoy life like everybody else.'

...What I would give to be a professional tennis player!

It's a little sad to see Greg announce his retirement but probably an eminently sound decision. Great to go out on a good win. When a player has been in the top flight it can't be very enjoyable in your early 30s with so much wear & tear to the body to have to keep travelling and play in minor tournaments and hope for wild cards to others. Hope he finds satisfaction in whatever field he enters next.
Jamie Murray made an excellent debut - his temperament looks good. He combined with Greg far better than Andy did in their 2 matches last year. It never ceases to amaze me how many people make fools of themselves on this board and I hope that Hero will now have discovered that it's Jamie's forehand not his backhand that is his weakness. Now John Lloyd will have to try and find the right man/men to team with him for the next tie.

Interesting how Andy's success has helped his brother. Without Andy I doubt he'd have had the opportunity to become established in high class doubles. He has had the ability all the time , obviously.

Looking forward to the September play-off. If Team GB can avoid Chile, Croatia, Switzerland and Serbia it will really boost their campaign to return to the World Group.

It is so sad that Greg has called it a day. Who would have thought he would've been one of the last exponents of serve-and-volley tennis?

This over-abundance of baseline tennis can be so boring at times....
