Ghosting (U2553655) posted Apr 7, 2007 If Rusedski retires after this tie, it will be shame for GB. Greg and Jamie could help a lot Tim and Andy to concentrate only for singles.

Ruggers (U3472595) posted Apr 7, 2007 Well Ghosting I think Andy and Tim will continue to be focussed on the singles ties.

JaneinTurkey (U8046208) posted Apr 7, 2007 Hmm... Is there a special unwritten rule that I don't know about? Why are the Brit doubles specialists mainly called "James" or "Jamie"???

Scotsguy (U1706091) posted Apr 7, 2007 4th set tie-break and this really is make-or-break for the Dutch as they are just 7 points from losing the tie.

Ghosting (U2553655) posted Apr 7, 2007 It's very sad Greg retires. GB had strong squad for so short time only against Holland. He had great career and his determination for GB DC was exemplary. His style was also unique. Best wishes to him!

bsjfan (U3300985) posted Apr 7, 2007 It's a little sad to see Greg announce his retirement but probably an eminently sound decision. Great to go out on a good win. When a player has been in the top flight it can't be very enjoyable in your early 30s with so much wear & tear to the body to have to keep travelling and play in minor tournaments and hope for wild cards to others. Hope he finds satisfaction in whatever field he enters next.

stoatsnest (U2167728) posted Apr 7, 2007 Interesting how Andy's success has helped his brother. Without Andy I doubt he'd have had the opportunity to become established in high class doubles. He has had the ability all the time , obviously.

Ruggers (U3472595) posted Apr 7, 2007 Looking forward to the September play-off. If Team GB can avoid Chile, Croatia, Switzerland and Serbia it will really boost their campaign to return to the World Group.

shivfan (U2435266) posted Apr 7, 2007 It is so sad that Greg has called it a day. Who would have thought he would've been one of the last exponents of serve-and-volley tennis?
