Shocking performance by the refereeing team, spoilt a perfectly good game. Other than that, Drogba just proved the difference in the end, Chelsea took advantage of what the referee and the linesmen gave them.

I support Liverpool, and although we've endured many tense games, I have to say - the winners were worthy.

Terry was kicked in the face, and I think that I sympathised with Chelsea from then. But also, Arsenal are naive to think that their passing can win every game they play.

Chelsea were clinical and direct, which is nice to watch. It's frustrating to see pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, feint, pass, feint, pass, shape to shoot, but instead: PASS!

<doh>

Chelsea made most of the possession they had, and provided the goal with two well worked goals.

Well done to Mourinho and his team.

<ok>

well done Arsenal lads, no complaints. Yes, we weren't great a defending set pieces, as has been a known weakness all season long. Can't blame the kids for that.

The kids outclassed a million pound Chelsea line-up and was unlucky to have Drogba's off-side equaliser given. We just ran out of gas near the end of 2nd half and Chelsea's quality finally shone through.

It was an ugly end to an otherwise entertaining final. Yet againt Arsenal will be branded at poor losers with Toure and Ade getting sent off. I don't know who incited the fracas but Toure should never have responded, and Ade should never have joined. Now these two will be suspended and we NEED their services in up coming games.

The best team doesnt always win, and so it was today. I felt sorry for the young guns. They play lovely football and should have won, but thats football. They'll be back soon and they'll win loads...but only if UNITED dont ;-) Well done Arsenal

Terry should have had a penalty and Drogbas goal was onside. Chelsea hit the bar twice. All in all the best team won.

I watched the game and here is my view if you want it or not.

Arsenal in the first half outplayed for the first 20mins and we we scored from our first shot.

Some great stuff was played, but lets not forget this is a reserve side. Arsenal only rested Henry, Gilberto and Lehman.

The 2nd half Chelsea were much better and even had time to hit the bar twice.

A great game and a moment of brillence was needed to win it and Drogba like the rest of the season was clinical!!

Steveweiser is right in the fact that Drogba proved the difference. He just can not stop scoring and like Ronaldo for Man Utd gives team an edge.

An incredible game and a shame about the sending offs, but that adds spice in my mind.

Unlucky Arsenal, and your team are really looking good for the future.

A great game.

This is what happens when you put Drogba up against Senderos. Chelsea just had to hang in there and they knew Arsenal would gift wrap them the victory in the end.

20ledge, what are you talking about?

You never seen the game, yet you criticise the Officials.

The Officials did their jobs.

And who the hell are Arsenal to criticse the Officials for giving the advantage of a doubtful offside, to the attacker?

Let's not forget the Wigan game shall we - where the players were CLEARLY offside, as opposed to being doubtfully.

;)

Get real mate.

Chelsea are a dirty disgraceful team. Dorgba's goal was ofside and they were played of the park in the 1sy half by the young gunners. No surprises that chelsea dived and time wasted towards the end. And mourino running onto the pitch disgraceful. Very lucky chelsea were today.

Then again, all it really confirmed was that our first team can beat them - Chelsea thought that they could do our youngsters 4-0, and we took them closer than they imagined.

The ref wasnt to blame.

As an Arsenal fan, I can only be proud of what our young team did out there today.

Robben and Drogba were the difference.

There is no shame in losing like that.

didn't see the game but Wenger should finally stop mouning and show some dignity. If he goes on to blame the officials for the loss I tell him one word: Wigan! I don't recall him complaining about being gifted a goal by Mr Dowd. What goes around comes around and things fortunately do even themselves out in football.

To be fair i can't see where Arsenal fans are coming from saying another paid trophy, in my eyes Chelsea won it fair and square, both goals were perfect and could have been more if not for the bar, shame though it will be rememberd for the bad times at the end, hope JT gets better soon!

Mikel and Toure were fair reds but what about Cesc and Lampard. I reckom the ref bottled it. Heaven forbid chelsea missing Lampard and Terry for a few games. Well done to the 2 managers for trying to defuse the situation. Also alot of credit to Arsenal for playing so well but unfortunately that now counts for nothing.

I can't see how Chelsea were unlucky when we hit the bar twice and actually took shots at the goal!

Xblue is right in the fact that Arsenal can pass, but you also need to shoot and you need to defend set plays.

They have great talent in the team, but also please bear in mind they really only rested Henry, Lehman and Gilberto.

It was a fair result.

As I said before, a great game.

you play football to score, not to pass the ball around.passing doesnt give a goal. And those people who scold the referess should just go back to school. The referees where excellent. Why didn't you say the ref was unfair to Man U when Arsenal scored from clear offside?? Today,Drogba was only 2mm off and that is small that even a camera cannot see.well done Howard Webb.Arsenal are 20 points adrift though

How dissapointing that it should all end like that, a great game overshadowed by petulant fighting.
Why did Toure, our captain, have to act like that? Madness. Frustrating and upsetting.

The football beforehand, however, was a joy to watch. It's a shame that Denilson was the one to give the ball away for the second goal but he had a decent game. Thought Diaby was fantastic and when he went off i kind of felt we would loose the initiative, as we did.

But oh well, there's still the FA Cup and Champions league to play for, and we can be proud of our boys for what they did before the fight.

JT's injury was horrible, hope he is all right.

If it wsn't for the massive injury crisis they've suffered, Chelsea would be at least 5 points clear at the top of the table.

I could sit here and say Chelsea should have had a player sent off early in the game for two bookable offences but I'm not going to.

Our boys played a great game especially at the start, Chelsea looked the worst I've ever seen them.

It felt difficult in the second half for us, Chelsea have a top class striker in the best form of his life and he is always going to be a threat to any defence.

I'm proud of our team and am happy to look to the future and know that they will all be winning trophies soon.

Well done Chelsea for winning it, I think we definitely deserved the trophy given the run we had and the way we played in the final, but it doesn't always go that way.

People should try and remember this final for the football and nothing else, it was an exciting game.

As for the Chelsea fans throwing things at Arsenal players, I think that is the worst part of the entire game. I hope those involved get banned from all games permanently, there is no excuse to throw anything onto the pitch for whatever reason.

It's a shame to see how little people seem to care about the amount of things thrown at our players, that needs to be fixed.

Arsenal fans, to be honest, your young team is almost as good as the first team. It's not as if they're 'reserves.'

:)

If Chelsea had of played the first team of Arsenal, Chelsea still might of won. In fact, they may have won easily. You NEVER know.

Thierry Henry can get lost during games, and he didn't play. Suppose Ljungberg or Rosicky played instead of Walcott, would of they scored?

It's ridiculous to compare, but: for me, they're one step away from being on par with the first team of Arsenal.

Obviously, when the likes of Walcott, Fabregas, or perhaps Denilson reach the age of Henry, they'll of exceeded 'the present quality.'

However, do you think the likes of Denilson will dedicated 10 - 15 years to Arsenal?

Can we stop calling Arsenal the "young guns" now please? Wenger hedged his bet by putting in second stringers so he had nothing to lose going into this match. Chelsea scraping a win was a predictable finish with predictable post-match comments to boot: "...Arsenal's young guns give multi-million-pound Chelsea a go but are unlucky in the end...dodgy refs...etc..."

Did they learn anything? I see Arsenal's senior squad members have passed on their ideals of sportsmanship and the ability to lose gracefully to the kids.

Glad we won, but going into this weekend, I would have taken Cheslea losing this final if it meant Man. United dropped points and Terry wasn't injured.

Chelsea were the more experienced side and that shone through in the result, in truth a large percentage of the best attacking was Arsenals but cheslsea did well on the break hence the two cross bar hits and drogba's first goal. Essien was lucky to stay on the pitch in the first half after his tackle and Lampard for his involvement in the incident in injury time. From a chelsea perspective however risking terry for this match now seems a terrible decision, if he is out for the rest of the season then it is going to make it very hard for them to win more silverwear. (Man of the match for me was Cech)

As to whether Chelsea are dirty or not one thing is certain both sets of players are a disgrace. No matter what happens to behave in such a dreadful way can only let the game down. I hope the FA throw the biggest book at them all because that is the only way things will improve. All this a few days after the awful scenes in Lille.
I am not a great fan of Alex Ferguson but at least he showed some sense of order when telling Neville to get back on the pitch and to mind his own business.
DISGRACEFUL!

Did not see the game, but reports indicate that it was a good one.
We played well against a full strength Chelsea. I am not buying that we played our reserve team, the team we started was the core of our best team, only maybe three were missing, and that does not include the GK.
Now we have to deal with the next games, lets hope that we field the best available team from now on, like Chelsea and Utd.
Lets not be too down, we have beaten Chelsea in the past in finals, and they are a good team. Their Manger is having a final goodbye before going to Real.

Congrats to Arsenal. You were much the better team - Fabregas, Denilson, and Diaby outclassed Lampard and Ballack all day. The first chelsea goal was questionable and the refereeing was generally poor. Essien should have been sent off early in the second half - and as for the referee only giving 7 minutes added time - what a joke!!! Sometimes the best team loses - and gooners should take pride in the fact that their second team kids outplayed a multi-million pound team!

I just want to congratulate the Arsenal youngsters because for large parts of the game they made Chelsea's multi-million pound squad look stupid.
Without Drogba and some great saves from Cech I don't think the scoreline would have been 2:1 Chelsea!

Hope John Terry is ok and recovers quickly, there is no way it was anybodies fault though. That was a pure accident.

The ref was very inconsistent giving Drogba's goal onside but flagging Arsenal offside when in the same position several times? In fact I think he was very poor, Diarra was lucky to stay on the pitch!

Disappointed with the ruck at the end and I felt the ref should have stopped it much quicker. Toure should not have reacted like that (very unlike him to do so) and I feel the ref was technically correct sending him and Mikel off. However at that late stage of the game was there any point sending anyone off because it totally ruined what could have been a very tense and entertaining last 10 minutes?

I didn't see what Adebayor did so can't comment on why he was sent off (unlike him though as well). However if you are going to send Toure and Mikel off you should also send off Fabregas and Lampard for wrestling lol

Oh well not to worry, respect to Drogba for winning that game for Chelsea. Respect to some of the Arsenal youngsters who had a great game in particular Walcott (great Henry style goal), Traore and especially Diaby (he is just what we need in midfield and is gonna be great). I think the game turned when he went off and we lost his physical presence!

Not to worry, Wenger can only be pleased by the performances the youngsters out in! I just wish he would choose Djourou over Senderos lol

Well done lads, the future looks good!

Chelsea have something you cannot buy and cannot instill in players regardless of how nice they play football. The magic ingredient is their will to win and strength of character, and this is also hugely reflected in their manager.Arsenal had large amounts of possesion and great passing play but in truth Chelsea could have scored four goals.Pity the fracas at the end spoilt things, but players tug each others shirts at every game and Arsenal's lack of dicipline when Migel tugged at Toure was something Wenger needs to sort.
