the rest of the side is likely spot on but with cahill out he'll probs go 4 4 2 and anichebe up front, unless hes seen a spark in beatties eyes in training! not sure how injured VDM is he may figure although some of his comments recently might not have done him any favours with moyesey!!

You think Neville won't play? Would have him in there somewhere.

Prefer him at right back to Hibbert and would prefer him to Carsley at home. Shouldn't need to rely on Carsley's tackling in a home game, especially if playing 5 midfielders.

Injuries (with AJ):

Hibbert (knee)
Valente (calf)
McFadden (broken metetarsal)
Boyle (back)
Van Der Meyde (Ankle)
Johnson (Knee)

Suspensions:

Cahill

Probable team:

Howard
Neville, Yobo, Stubbs, Lescott
Arteta, Fernandes, Carsley, Anderson, Osman
Beattie

Subs: Wright, Anichebe, Vaughan, Naysmith, Pistone

the team basically picks itself now.

Assuming AJ is fit and knowing Cahill is suspended, I think the team Moyes will play will be the same I would like to see.

I know some may say put Lescott back at centre back but why change a defence that has been playing so well lately. Stubbs is on a great run of form.

Also there will be shouts to play 4-4-2 with no Cahill. Again I would say why change something that is working. Change it when it stops working.

For this reason I think the following is the most likely team if AJ plays:-

Howard
Hibbert
Stubbs
Yobo
Lescott
Osman
Fernandes
Carsley
Neville
Arteta
Johnson

Very unliely Neville will not play again. Only difference I can see from this might be that AVDM gets a start ahead of Osman on the wing or instead of Carsley and the place behind the striker is given to Osman.

Anyone else?

i pressumed neville was in that line up, course he'll be in there, i wonder whether moyes would do something daft like push neville into the mid and put pistone or naysmith at right back especially if he wants to keep his 4 5 1? its not unheard of but stupid if he did!

Yeah Moyes has been prone to the tactical errors, more so this year than in the past. Mainly these were ever starting McFadden or Davies though so don't have this problem at the moment.

Is Hibbert back on the sidelines again then?

Even if Hibbert and Cahill can't play, I don't see any reason Moyes would need to push Neville into the middle with Osman, Arteta, Fernandes, Carsley, Van Der Meyde, Anichebe, BT able to play. But like you said, this doesn't mean he wont!!!

Probably more likely Yobo right back though with Lescott and Stubbs in the middle and Pistone / Naysmith left back.

For the record, I hate having Yobo right back. He is nowhere near as effective

Oh god not Yobo at right back, his distribution from full back is poor and he knows it so he'll just punt it!

The final scoreline will be Everton 1-3 Spurs. We are on the verge of a winning run and it started against Fulham. Be very afraid. We are gunning for the UEFA cup spots.

Itspurfect - you're 'on the verge' of a winning run, what does that mean? You've won one game after being on a useless run of form - yea, you're on the verge alright, but it's nothing to do with football.

Fantastic result, how important is JJ to our team?
We need to work on defending those set pieces though <ok>

So glad we got the 3 points, felt we deserved it overall - can't believe the negative tactics of the home team, showed us too much respect IMHO (perhaps rightly in hindsight).

The game was there for winning, can't believe Everton settled for the draw with 20 minutes to go....

Crazy team choice and ludicrous subs lost this match for us. Moyes you are responsible for this. Thats twice with same mistake on attacking options 3 times will be too much

Why was Moyes so defensive?
You guys were at home, and yet played counter-attacking like an away side.
Was it due to the injuries to AJ et al?
Just couldn't fathom it - not disappointed though :)
