Magaye Gueye

Thought he did ok, but I think he might do better in home games to start with. Once he gets up to speed with the Premiere League he might be a useful addition to the squad, but don't think he would start ahead of Billy just yet. Obviously we've not got much option at the moment but to play him, so let's see how he fares in the next two or three games.

I haven't seen much that gives me a negative opinion of the fella yet.

I saw him 'live' versus Huddersfield at the start of the season and I still remember the ball he threw in to Fellaini for our first goal and I thought he looked good then.

Probably should have scored yesterday too but sharpness will come with more matches.

Frankly I thought he looked over-awed. He was really good against Villa but thought he looked anxious and not quite believing enough in himself. If he had scored that breakaway who knows what it would have done for him. Anyway, would probably be the first to be dropped when a big name returns but moyes won't be anxious about giving him a subs appearance and he will acclimatise at the right pace.

Agreed. He looked ok but nothing special yet. One for the future. Not a chance I'd drop Billy for him. For all his lack of defensive ability Billy has a superb goals to starts ratio for a midfielder. I've said before I'd love to see him play 15 games on the trot. He seems to have a woeful 20 minutes as a sub and get judged on that. Or start a game and not he up to speed every two months and get judged on that. He clearly has the talent.
Now he has an opportunity to play a few games on the bounce I'm really hoping he takes it. Same scenario with Beckford. Now Saha is out he needs to grasp the nettle and stake a claim. Up to now he's progressing nicely.
Him amd Billy have been written of at times this season as have Osman and Hibbo. Funny that they could make our season in the next few months?

Is this a wind up? the lad had a mare from start to finish, but he's young, inexperienced, and will only get better, I'm prepared to give him all the time he needs to show us what he can do, start ahead of Billy? no chance, ahead of Anichebe? get in the queue behind my grandma.

I think Gueye started off slow and got in to the game a bit more once we went 1 up, but thought it was right to bring him off. I'm glad he's getting some game time now as I think he'll be a useful player for us next season. I would have Billy ahead of him at the moment, but would rather he played ahead of Anchiebe. I thought he was meant to be a striker, though we've been playing him as a winger.

Gueye maybe one for the future.

The question for me is will DM play Bily through the middle, driving forward with a shoot on sight policy!

I'm fed up of saying that he deserves a chance in his favoured position.

There's a quality player in there somewhere!

I thought he was awful, probably due to nerves, but he didn't do himself justice.

He should have been put through on goal by Beckford when the greedy so and so had a three on three and went himself after drawing Gueye's marker to him. Hope Moyes stamps out Beckford's attitude problem, the lad has finishing quality and good movement but his attitude will let him down. We don't stop running at this club mate.

Beckford's reaction didn't bother me. He'd run out of steam after a great shift but wanted more goals. That hunger is ok with me. I'd be more disappointed if he'd wandered straight down the tunnel like VDV is making a habit of

For a free transfer and the step up that has been made, Beckford has been a gem signing for us.

Saturday confirmed why Moyes has not used Guaye often this season

I agree that I like to see the hunger for more goals and that if he'd wandered down the tunnel he'd get a shooing. However, I'm adding up that reaction to a very well respected manager and the reaction to Fellaini's pass that went astray a couple o fmonths ago and the level of abuse Beckford levelled at him. From someone who has just jumped up to the top division that smells like a bad attitude to me. He should be man enough to acknoweldge he was tired and leave it at that. I am sure he has since apologised to the Boss, we'll see what reaction he gives next time.

I deifnitely think Gueye will improve though, it's another massive step up for him from the french second division so it'll take time. I also like the look of Vellios though, reckon he'll be a real handful in a couple of years.

This Vellios lad looks like a find.

As for Gaye he looked fine last week and shocking this week...but its his first away trip in the Premiership and his shot one on one with Wayne wasnt that bad it was decent save with his foot but he is young and will move forward.
