Missed the first half, but by all acccounts we were a bit unlucky while Wigan rode theirs, a goal is a goal even if its offfsie; a few inches either way and Liverpool could of had 3!!

Thats the way it goes tho, fair play to Wigan they always seem to play well Vs Liverpool...and they did again today.

Need a game where Sammon can be given a run out and see if he can hit the ground running - FA cup against Bolton maybe, at least come off the bench for half an hour?

Attacking wise, you guys really impressed again today, although I dont see you play on a regular basis, whenever I catch either N'Zogbia or Rodallega they look great.

The rest of the side were neat in possession for a lot of the game, didn't give too much away in terms of silly fouls (apart from Cauldwell)

Diame is it? Thought he was great today, but your side on the whole looked up for it, combative without being overly so, and composed just lacking that real killer instinct up front.

I like your manager a lot, and really hope you not only stay up, but do it reasonably comfortably, as I wouldnt want any pressure on Martinez, he plays good football, buys some REALLY top quality players on a relative budget, and speaks sanity in his interviews, I honestly think he is one for the future, not to say he isnt a good manager now, but he will continue to improve in my opinion.

Any news on cleverley, if its a loan with a view to a permanent deal? he has looked tidy on a few occasions this season.

well..it's 2 points dropped.

it was a goal that shouldn't stand, and they should've been down to 10 men no question.
Suarez twice hit the post..

it's a day of bad luck i'm afraid, but football is full of them, still one of the most in-form teams in the premiership at the minute and unbeaten in the league under Kenny.

I'm still quite happy with what he's down since hes been here

Well done Wigan. It was a good game of football, end to end, ish. I remember a few weeks ago some Wigan fans were saying Martinez isn't all he is cracked up to be, and Di Matteo was. Look how that turned out!

We'll see, hopefully he gets a good stint, even if you go down, because you could easily come back up with an extra 30m in the bank. I'm sure you'd rather stay up!

Liverpool were unlucky, but you guys played well, apart from Batman!

It may feel like dropped points, and in reality it is, especially at home. But its better than a loss, particularly againt a wigan side, who I think Im right in saying, No one knows how theyre near the relegation zone. Didnt see the two major incidents i.e the possible sending off and the offside, but i look forward to match of the day with enthusiasm. Its five unbeaten now, since Kenny took charge, and, without picking on Hodgson, I would never have expected two unbeaten with him in charge. So, as a Liverpool fan, im content with todays result. But i still dare to dream! YNWA

Resilient Wigan today and they did deserve a point from their graft.

Suarez looking promising, cannot wait till Carrol comes in. Sunderland Spurs game going our way at mo (6th) and 2 points off Spurs means we are not too far away from catching them.

i really enjoyed the game today and it was a really good result for us. Yeah Suarez could have had a couple but you'd expect that against a lower team in the division and whilst we didnt have many clear cut chances i was really impressed with the way we knocked the ball around, kept possession and looked dangerous when attacking on the break.

And just one for the sceptics that say wigan players lack passion....watch MOTD and watch Steve Gohouri literally throw his whole body at a shot. Thats passion!!!

Wigan goal was offside. It was a bad decision by the linesman as the player was at least one meter offside. But, we are not Arseanl and not going to blame the offecials for the draw because first Wigan played well and then we had some good chances that could not turn into goals. Also, the bench at the moment is so weak. Nogo and Jova couldn't offer anything. The injury list gets bigger with Gerrard, Cole, Carroll, Agger, Spearing, Shelvey and now Meireles who is sick all out injured.

Let's see. Wigan deserved their point because.....they were outshot about 2 to 1, scored an off-side goal, were lucky not to be down to 10 men and had their woordwork rattled. Liverpool were not at their best, but should have had all 3 points easily.

kenny Daglish stated that Wigan would have been very unlucky not to leave Anfield with a point.

Are you arguing with Kenny? Sometimes we need to hold our hands up, Agger (Int duty) Johnson (int duty) Gerrard (injured) Meirelles (sick 2nd half)On the plus side Suarez hit the woodwork twice on his second game in the premiership. Good times are on their way...

Well done Wigan, played well and deserved the point regardless of offside or not. I don't think Liverpool know how to dominate fully in that formation, it was only the last 10 or 15 minutes that we really got the pressure on Wigan and started creating chances.

Still, there are 11 or so games left, game on!

Agree with earlier post about a weak bench, really missed agger and Ferrara today. Still not lost in five though, something to build on, plus only two euro games in the next two weeks so there's some time to rotate and get players fit again.

Like watching Wigan, apart from against us! I guess the inconsistency of them is why theyre near the bottom as they have some great players, good pace and technique.

Didn't go to the game so I've only seen the extended highlights on footy first which certainly seemed to give a much better picture of Wigan's part in the game than the bits on MoTD. Dalgleish and Hanson's verdicts are good enough for me to suggest we deserved a point.

As for the "offside goal" when will people get it in there heads that it's not what actually happened on the slo mo reply that matters. What the ref and linesman see in real time is the only thing that matters and that won't change (unless we start using video replays at which point I'll stop whatching.) This one was a real difficult one to call right. First time I saw it I thought it was miles off as I thought Rodellega (?) had got a toe to it and nobody else had touched it. Replay showed that Rods had missed it but Alcaraz had got a faint touch in a crowd of players which hardly changed the flight at which point Gohouri was marginally off. My guess is that the lino missed the Alcaraz touch.

Badger
Were you sitting/standing in a pretty much direct line with Gohouri at the time the ball came off Alcaraz's head. If not then your "opinion" of whether it was offside is totally irrelevant.

Why do Liverpool fans keep going on about Caldwell should have been sent off? He wrongly got booked for a shocking Suarez dive, then Suarez produced another shocker of a dive to try and get him a second yellow. He produced 5 awful dives, and the ref saw 3 of them, so by the letter of the law 5 yellows should have been shown to him? Red card, but none given.

Then you had Carragher not getting booked for taking out Moses first half, clear yellow as well as his awful late challenge second half.

Liverpool should have had 9 men in that game.

Draw was a fair result. Up until 75 minutes, 7 shots each, 50% possession each, Wigan just sat back a little too much in the final 15 and Liverpool for the first time in the game exerted a bit of pressure and created 5 shots to 1, making it 12-8 chances overall.

More of the game over the 90 minutes was played in Liverpools half than Wigans but Wigan's final pass around Liverpools box was poor and wasted so many chances to create something different, whereas Liverpool, had a few decent chances on the counter. The game general was like Wigan were the home team and Liverpool were the away team hitting on the counter.

I've looked at the replay of Wigans goal and it's still inconclusive, looks to me as though it might actually be N'Gog's head it came off, when I looked at it in slow motion.

Tommy, five dives from Suarez? Did u watch the game?! Looked more like ur team were told to get stuck into him on his debut to see how he would react, every time he beat one of your players, he got taken out. Both teams put some bad challenges in.

Still, fair play to your lot, you deserved a point. I agree that you had us pinned in our own half for much longer than I hoped you would.

Irrespective of whether Wigan's goal was offside or not, our midfield was shocking without Gerrard, Aurelio and Maxi didn't look interested and Lucas couldn't even buy a pass to a red shirt and when Kuyt was subbed for Jovanovic we were admitting a draw.......... if Jovanovic is a premiership footballer then he needs to charged under trades description, the way he slipped and slided his way around the midfield he wouldn't have looked out of place on dancing on ice!..... and to think we let Babel go...... we're getting there, slowly, but no disrespect to Wigan but we should be burying teams down at the bottom!

Oh yeah, and from where I was sitting in the anfield road end, the ref bottled big decisions for both sides!

Not to start a row or anything but Liverpool fans keep complaining of injustice. So on that basis can somebody please explain how Carraghers blatant handball in the first minute from Caldwell was not given as a penalty. From where I was sat in the away end it looked pretty darn decisive to me. I know a lot around me thought it was a penalty and a steward even admitted it was. Strange it was ommitted from Match of the Day.

I must say though I was mightily impressed with Suarez yesterday. I know a few of our fans have grievances about his diving but it goes on everywhere so it doesn't upset me to be honest. He played very very well, looked really sharp and I have no doubts whatsoever he'll be nothing but an asset to liverpool football club. The game was entertaining, and I thought we were deserving of our point in the general way we played. I hope to see more of that in the coming weeks, starting next week against United. Gotta say my first trip to anfield was everything I thought it would be and more. YNWA is amazing, made the hairs on the neck stand up.

Good luck to Liverpool for the rest of the season ale

LFC fans do not despair. Yes it was not the best result yesterday but it wasn't the worst. Keeping in mind that we have a lot of players injured and one of our key player got subbed as well. So we just have to keep faith and move on now, once we get gerrard, agger, carroll, cole fit we will be fine for the rest of the season.
It's football guys it's not the first time we are going to have to complain about a decision and it's definitely not going to be the last.
Liverpool have got to realise that 1-0 does rarely get u a result, need to kill off the game.

Whether or not the Wigan goal was offside or not is irrelevant. I noticed Dalglish made no obfvious mainstream comments about it & quite rightly so. He's inteligent enough to realise that we should be beating sides like Wigan, and I say this with the greatest respect to them, wothout relying on an official to get a decision right. We haven done this for many years now, raised our game for the "big" clubs & not been able to kill off the "small" clubs it's cost us the difference between where we were & where we are over the previous twenty seasons. No good picking up the points against the Chelsea's, Man Utd, Aresenals etc if we cannot pick up the "bread & butter" points.

I don;t agree that our form over the last few games has been purely a feel good factor from Kenny taking the reigns again, I believe Merelleis has come good at the right time. Lucas has worked hard to get better but, guys like Ngog & Maxi, again with the greatest respect to them, are not good enough to play for Liverpool, it's just one tier too high for them. I still can;t see a five year plan coming out of the club that makes any sense & I certainly have not seen a renewed focus on the academy which, again has cost us over the years. We have nver recovered from Graham Souness I am afraid but, coulda woulda shoulda is no good to us right now, we are where we are. Lets just hope that NESV walk the walk as well as they talk the talk. They could start by beating Man Utd to Gareth Bale should he become available, that would show a very clear statement of intent.

For guys like Dalglish, Souness, Thompson, Rush, I could go on & on, I'm sure it will hurt like hell to see the records that they basically built falling to our greatest rivals, lets just hope that's enough to get some impetus & frive at the club to fix the very obvious problems staring us in the face.
