It's seems a very small site for a full academy and training pitches, but it would be great to see us having a base back at Boothferry Park.

This would be great - for sentimental reasons if nothing else. Supports the fact that it looks like the club is now in the hands of true City fans.

OLM---I think the site is bigger than you think now all the stands and terraces are down, the walkway at the side of old east terrace, the gym and area behind that plus car park area---

You could possibly get two full size pitches where the old ground used to be, with a building/car park at the front, but to get the sort of set up we were getting at Melton, you'd need to use all the land on the opposite side of the railway lines too(though I think Melton involved pitches on either side of railway tracks too).

Just been looking at Google Maps. What it the land off Hawthorne Ave, over the railway line from Boothferry Park then?

Is that a playing field? Waste land?

I would assume it would not be beyond the wit of the designers to build over the railway line.

If they could get Boothferry Park AND that land, I think it would seem to meet the requirements for what they're looking for.

The Boothferry Park site seems to be about 500ft x 800ft ish... but the other land seems to be about 800ft x 1500+ft.

Could be very viable!

Actually loyalmidlands tiger, i'd still want to see "Boothferry Park" by day - but they should only put bulbs in the letters FER ARK.

Keep the tradition alive.

I still think it will end up somewhere near Kingswood.

So what? Barcelonas training ground us in the middle of a dump, as is their stadium (red light district I believe), they still get world class players. Hardly makes a difference where it is IMO, as long as the facilities are good.
