Still 3 matches to go before we can celebrate anything.

Unusual for the little mexican fella to miss that many chances, I think the problem is not enough competitive matches for him. Brilliant to see RVP playing so well. Great game by Jack the lad.

Vela has gone so far backwards from his first season, shocking. He was scoring great goals for fun, now he can't hit a barn door. I'd prefer to see rvp on the left and bendtner down the middle next round. Wilshire, denilson and ramsey in midfield (if he's match fit) or fabregas. we're gonna have to play a few big names next round to give our selves a fair chance of reaching the final.

I see from newspaper reports today that AW feels the squad is strong enough and doesnt require any new players in January, can we just cast our minds back to the second half debacle against Spurs and the oh so nearly second half disater at Villa Park, and the sruggle to settle the game last night against a very poor Wigan side.

The quad is no where strong enough, we should have had at least three more goals on Saturday
and last nights misses from Vela and Bendtner only serves to highlight the gulf between them and the first choice front men.

But the area that is most in need of new blood is in the defence, Ok we got away with it against Villa, but Spurs showed up the frailties, we need two centre backs wwho are good in the air, I cant believe on of the Arsenal defence was outjumped by Defoe, let alone Dunn, and a defensive midfielder, who can concentrate on his resposibilities rather than trying to get into the opposing penalty area and of course a good goalkeeper.

So Arsene, let us hope your statement, if it is true, is only a blind to stop asking prices out of hand.

Thanks. It does feel like the Carling Cup is ours to lose now. Should be a good motivator for the youngsters who have never been part of a title winning Arsenal squad to taste the success and aim higher.

I just can not get worked up over the CC. It's a Mickey Mouse competition even if we win it. The only reason Wenger has fielded stronger teams this year is because his butt is on the line.
Interesting dilemna though. If we reach the final..most players would give their eye teeth to play in a Cup Final at Wembley (albeit the CC)
Does Wenger play those who got there? Does Fabregas sit out not getting to lift a trophy?
How will the players left out feel if they played the earlier rounds?
No new players in January. If true surely the "Wenger can do no wrong" group can see his stubborness has reached new heights and maybe time to move up.
