It has helped having the ref on your side, otherwise it would be a true reflection on the welsh team

Three missed kicks three tries. Simple they were far more clinical and we were far to loose against a side you can ill afford to be.

Alan Lewis was good today NZ got away with far less than usual. NZ were clinical and always had another gear. But Wales were competative and combative today

Andy Powell on McCaw at the end was a disgrace!

Kaino & Gear were very impressive.

Carter & All Blacks were below par but at crucial moments, All Blacks were very clinical & efficient!

agree andy Powell was a cheap shot. no excuse for it he wasn't stepping he didn't slip just deliberatiely tried to take his head off. surprised he wasn't out cold after collecting him on the chin

Yep I think Powell can look forward to rightly being cited, but have a look at Brad Thornes forearm smash into Mike Phillips face as well when he was held by the the throat by Whitlock!

Why are Wales still ranked 9th? Surely they should be lower than that given they don't know how to win a game. Whatever you say about playing well and putting pressure on teams, an occasional win is actually what matters. Wales can't even manage that anymore. They are a shambles, Gatland is a joke, and Welsh fans have excatly what they deserve - nothing. Whatever comments this gets, I don't care. Welsh Rugby is rubbish. FACT!!!!

It was much better than last week, making up for the shocking lack of physicality we saw against Fiji.
It does show the gulf in class though, NZ didn't really need to get out of first gear to beat us!

couldn't agree more .. Lewis was very poor today.
He was told by Kaplan of the forward pass in the build up to the Welsh try (I don't begrudge them that) but chose to over rule a man in a better position. His decision making needs to improve or he won't be doing any of the finals next year.

new zealand finishing and back play far superior to anything wales could offer.two tries came from missed kicks to touch, which isnt good at any level let alone international.rob howley the welsh backs coach should go, welsh back play has been non existent for the the last three years.only shining light for wales was the performance of warburton.

Once again Hook's white line fever has wasted a try scoring opportunity- that try would have put the All Blacks under some pressure

Its not Gatland it is Howley. Our back play and attacking moves are diabolical.

We need a decent backs coach.

Re barrybreen's comments, yup Wales perhaps should be lower than 9th, an occasional win would be nice and they are a bit of a shambles. However I don't think Gatland is a joke, he's just getting the best out of a limited range of players, a range limited because there are far too many oversees players playing for the Welsh regions (Ireland have the same problem). But quite why he feels the need to pick on the Welsh fans is beyond me, they are probably the most loyal and passionate fans in the world and actually deserve better. That comment alone shows that his knowledge of the game is limited at best and he really should keep his bigoted comments to himself. I bet he's English FACT!!!

barrybreen
Yes Wales cant win a game - 9th.. we are better than Scotland and a couple of others above us - Warren Gatland should have resigned after last week as well as Robin McBride, Rob Howley et al. Lee Byrne was absolutely appalling AGAIN, when did Tom Shanklin last pass a ball???? Bishop is far and away the best centre in Wales and are there any better British centres playing at the moment ??? we have the players to make a game of it with most of the teams in the world apart from NZ who are far and away the best in the world. As against Ireland last week when NZ wanted to score they did !

clinical display by the AB's... fed up why we cant run a straight line. Hook and Byrne should in reality be leading by example but are incapable of understanding a straight line (or is that Howleys fault?). too many mistakes in defence and attack to win at this level.... I'm sorry to say but I think the set of backs we have are lacking vision and speed of thought (bordering on plain stupid at times)and BTW Kaino will also be sited for a full punch to the face of Byrne (watched S4C so seen it as BBC2 was showing Tennis).. however we did front up much better after 15 mins. better result than I feared...

Good rugby lessons for Wales by the ABs. Wales' back play: It seems to me (i may be wrong here) that the Welsh backs are concentrating too much on playing a wide game and forgot to use running straight as well. Playing the ball wide is supposed to open up the opponents' defence so that straight runners do their job...
Good Welsh pack, rubbish centres. Put your house on the ABs winning the next world cup.

Must be "cited"

Once again an Irish Ref has question marks against his overall performance.
As a neutral may I say how sad it was to hear Jonathen Davis continually referring to the Kiwi's as "THEY"
The programme was being shown around the world not just Wales

Bar the first half of the SA game, this was Wales's best performance of the AI. Warburton, Lydiate and the front row have had good series's. We need a grafter in the second row, AWJ and Bradley are topo lightweight. We need a more dynamic number 8. Phillips needs to get back to his Lions form, SJ was adequate but not spectacular. Then in the centre... We missed Jamie Roberts. We needed his straight running, and impetous. Hook and Roberts were the centres of the 6N, and hopefully they will back together soon. Then will someone please run straight! Anyone!

Going to start by saying im Welsh, and always want my team to win, but seriously... it really gets under my skin when people are saying we SHOULD be winning, and Gatland needs to go etc.

Matter of fact is Wales has 4 top tier teams (realisticaly 2 and a 1/2 depending on whos on form). We do not have the depth to contend with tri nation teams. All we are ever going to come too is pip the occasional win, and maybe go on a winning streak with a very good starting line up. As soon as our "star line up" gets out of form or injured we are going to be on a downer again. At least Gatland has been trying to do somthing about this.

At the moment id say that from the N.hemisphere there are no stand out teams, and the 6 nations this season should be close. Anyone (maybe bar Italy) could give a good crack at it. England have been hit or miss, Ireland and Wales seem in a similar boat, with Scotland showing they can front up to big games too.

as a welsh man im embarressed by the comments of 'good effort wales' and the 'proud' of this and that lark.
we have the hignest paid coach in world rugby. some of the highest paid players. when you take things like that into consideration, you expect to be competing, not being proud and revelling in ultimate failure.

the all blacks were extremely under-par, dan carter left his kicking boots at the hotel and still, they made us look average at best.
never in the game was it possible wales were going to win, the all blacks upped at the ante whenever any such question looked like being asked.
lets be honest, we shouldnt even have had that try at the end as it came from a scrum that should have been a new zealand penalty.
so the facts are, we had a ref on our side....shocking display from him, the all blacks were under-par, carter couldnt kick a donkey in the first half, we was at home, had plenty of territory....................end result WE LOST BY FIVE TRIES TO ONE.

that is in my opinion absolutely nothing to be proud of.
utterly embarressing welsh attitude again.

having the highest paid coaches and players doesnt mean squat. Throwing money at a problem doesnt make it go away. Untill we get enough depth, (which in my view can only be gained through more regions OR a wholesale leauge change to bring the old leauges back)we are never going to be as good as we think we are consistantly.

Tri-nation teams all have 6+ top tier teams, England and France have better records against the tri nation teams and have a larger player base aswell

"Wales your a disgrace,get a grip,show some fight."

It isn't a lack of fight that is the problem, but a lack of the basic rugby skills of handling the ball and off-loading the ball out of the tackle contact situations that Wales currently are missing but once had in 2005 when Australian Scott Johnson was the backs coach. Also someone stated above that Wales lack players to straight the line as they tend to drift wide a lot, well how about a big, powerful centre pairing of Jamie Roberts and George North. These 2 will definitely straighten the backline when Wales move the ball amongst the backs and will help to create the space out wide for the likes of Halfpenny,Williams etc to score tries.
