Dont apoligise Ben, you were doing us a favour.

Boxing and BBC dont mix its like electricity and water. Stick to winter sports.

That light that you keep on about Eric, you couldn't shine a bit of it on who might win the November Handicap at Doncaster on Saturday, could you? Not to mention which round Pacquiao-Margarito and Haye-Harrison might finish. I could then go to the bookmaker's and perform God's work myself.

No worries.

Now if you could just fix my TV, doesn't seem to be picking up BBC Boxing either.

Cheers for clearing that up Ben, for a minute I thought the future was going to consist of me actually having to do work to pass the working day in the absence of 606 boxing.

While you're here though, how come the BBC are saying that the world pound for pound rankings aren't going to be updated anymore?

Maybe these technical BODS should be fired as they're clearly useless. One of them keeps putting up articles about Audley Harrison under the impression that we're interested in anything this fool has to say!

Surely he should be demoted to the "Hilarious quotes that make you go, 'Oh dear, he's funny' whilst clearly meaning 'he's unfunny'" section!

laugh Good work again Scott. Have you considered applying for the permanent presenter's role on 'Have I Got News For You?'

Ben, any chance we can have some boxing on the BBC? Considering the TV licence fee, I think it's only fair..

Yeah, Ben, sort it out will ya. Can't you use your influence as a sports reporter to change BBC policy?

If only Chris but thanks. Think I'd prefer Attenborough's role though Ben if you have as much influence as people think.

It's back... nice line Scotty, like it.

88Chris05 - Yes, we've pulled the BBC's world rankings, mainly because we realised (probably belatedly) that it was entirely unrealistic for one man (ie me) to keep tabs with what every boxer in the world is up to at any given point. The British rankings remain.

DAVE669 - "One of them keeps putting up articles about Audley Harrison under the impression that we're interested in anything this fool has to say!" That's funny, last time I checked the fight was a sell-out and they expect it to be the biggest-selling PPV fight in British history, so clearly some people are interested!

Ben Dirs!

Why don't you let us do the BBC World Rankings for you?

Yeah, but not in what he has to say, they want to see him get beaten by David Haye and finally put out to pasture. A quick search on his Tw*tter page suggests there aren't thousands of messages of support like he claims. The clown is deluded and you're buying into the hype.

Anyhoo, what's you're honest assessment of how this fight will pan out?

Right like I've been saying on here...

Audley is the only marketable fighter for Haye bar the Klits out there...

Boxing is a business first...

if Manny was top of the pile then maybe losing the World rankings is a good idea on here!

Where is the 606 Gary Lockett these days??

You're right Ben. We are all interested. Its just we feel we shouldn't be...

So - any chance of negotiating some re-screening rights? You could show great matchups (ie PPV fights) say 1 week later? On BBC3/BBC4? Would almost certainly double BBC4's viewing figures...

Ben

I'm a technical bod and i can guarantee i'd do a better job.

My starting salary would be £75k per year. Inclusive would be gym and a nice 3 bed apartment in somewhere like Holborn. I think in relation to how much money the BBC fritters away on lesser talented individuals it would represent value for money.

Let me know.
