I reckon you will finish higher than Manu, that's for sure, but no, I don't think you will win the league. You have a great first 11, and depending on injuries, and a bit of luck, I expect a top-3 this season. ok

lol great attitude....but less than 6 months ago people were tearing strips off rafa for saying the same about getting into the top four (which was FAR more likely to happen than us winning the league this year)....

maybe he came out with this so that it would provoke these dire pundits into responding, which would justify the bloodshed that would commence immediately after he's heard of their rebuttals....laugh

Martin Skrtel is the hardest defender in the premier league.

He could have 'bogbrush hair' JT and 'far too easily offended' Vidic at the same time with one hand tied behind his back

Go on Sktrs grr

He's got the right attitude but the title may be out of reach for you lot this year. I'm not saying no chance but it's unlikely. ngog is decent but you really need torres to play 30+ league games. I do think you will finish higher than chavski though

ikhilioju : "which was FAR more likely"? Only to blind fanatical supporters of Mr Benitez.

There was never a hope in hell of a top four finish: other teams caught up with us and he had peaked.

I will credit Mr Benitez with the gracious gesture: a donation to the Hillsborough fund and he could have asked for more cash to leave.

Hey why not? The season is early and why aim for 4th place? Surly we should be looking to do better! Aim for the top and you can be proud of your achievement if you fall a bit short knowing glory is what you were hunting. But aim for 4th and that achievement will mean little as the players didn't aim for much.

It's early yet and we are relatively healthy, so why not? We can win it!

Ah Nani, good to see you here again. When Diego lands the Villa job, you really will have to give him his World Cup Winning barnet back mate

Pssst! Have you seen the final CL score? As ever with you guys, you always laugh too soon. Now Spurs are big favourites to progress to the CL proper. Not laughing and Psssting any more? smiley

Yes thanks. I for one am still laughing. They were turned over by a bunch of part-time, alpine-horn blowing, goat-herding yodelle-hee-hoo-ers.

I've been saying it's our year for the last 20-odd! My theory is, say it enough and at least one time you will be right!

I like Skrtel and I like that he's being positive. He was quality against Arsenal the other day with Carra and it will be interesting to see how Roy keeps Agger, Skrtel and Carra happy as 3 doesn't fit into 2 and Agger will not be our long term LB solution (although he would do a sterling job there if he had to).

I think Liverpool have been very much under-rated this season and I'm pleased about that. No pressure, no heightend expectation. Just get on with it and see where we are after the Christmas period.

P.S the Spurs result and dire performance bought a smile to my face last night too. But what a waste of a potential champions league place ;O)

Joe Cole stopped for doing 105mph! And his critics said that he had a good attitude, but was a little slow?

His solicitor claims that the police officer is an Everton supporter.

Yea, there was a big Chelsea/Everton divide back then...

Anyways, Skrtle is a top defender and im glad he's signed an extension. I prefer Agger myself when he's fit and match ready but you can't get many more solid, reliable and committed players than Skrtle. No harm in having competition for the CB posistion, espescially with Carra being the wrong side of 30.

That's not bashing him mind which a few Liverpool fans seem to be just because of his age, he's still 1st choice in my eyes.
