We are sooo not going to win the title

After tonight, I am starting to think that too, because this is the sort of game you win if you want to win the title.

6 points from our last 7 away games.

We have no chance of winning the title with our away form as it is!

I don't know why we can't get results away, I really don't!

It's not hard to ge points away from home. Keep it tight, play the ball around, make them work. We did none of tha tongiht, no movement, no possession, nothing. We were content to play it around the back four and then just hoof it up to the strikers. Appalled by tonights performance, everyone one of them should be up at 5 tomorrow moring for a beasting, perhaps then they might realise they have a title to win, and not just fart about on the pitch. How much do they get paid to perform like that? Not good enough.

Spurs, Man Utd and Liverpool still to play away. On current form we will probably lose them, but I'm hoping that the return of Essien and the high importance of these games will make our players raise their game. At the moment our confidence away from home is shocking.

Man U Fan in peace

bad look tonight Chelsea, but it certainly makes the title race even more interesting. Man U vs Chelsea at OT is shaping up to be a massively decisive game (though a lot can happen either way between now and then). gotta say though, Chelsea look way too vunerable from set pieces, and as an England fan, it does worry me slightly.

Good luck to Chelsea for the rest of the season, and well done Everton on a fantastic result tonight

Why are you people being so negative? Are you real Chelsea fans? This is our first defeat of the year, you can't expect us to win every game until the end of the season.

We are TOP OF THE LEAGUE still! What makes you think Man Utd won't drop any more points? They did tonight. We have an excellent team/squad this year and some of our football has been magical. One defeat and we won't win the title? Keep your heads up and believe in your club.

Yes we are top of the table, but onyl by a point, and only because United went down to 10 men tonight. I'm very worried that this sort of form is going to spill over into our home games and cup competitions. Jose has no doubt been watching us and will set his inter side up to turn us over, home and away. Unless Carlo sorts this out, and sticks Alex and JT together, were going to get found out more than once this season.

Im worried about the game against inter. Jose was saying today about how he has a slight advantage due to the fact that chelsea have the same players and more or less train and play in the same manner

Arsenal fan in peace. Credit to Everton, they've come back so impressively since their dodgy start to the season.

Chelsea are still the best team in the league and will win the title. Man Utd are a fairly poor team, if Rooney doesnt perform you're screwed i.e. Fulham, Aston Villa.

Good night for us though!

Knee Jerk reaction, chelsea are still on course for 88 points. that has been enough to win the premiership for 20 years running now. all we need is to find a little bit of rhythm and suddenly things will be looking rosy again. we may not be the form team up there, but everyone around us is dropping points at the moment, we cannot win every game this year and i think its important to keep perspective.

we are still on course for a very good season by any standards, the only member of the top four in the FA cup, in the champions league and top of the premiership. (is it just me or is anyone a little apprehensive about Inter?)

An optimistic Chelsea fan.

We were poor tonight - seemed to turn off after half an hour.

I feel we miss Essien hugely - he adds a drive and purpose within midfield tha neither Ballack nor Mikel can provide over 90 minutes. I don't feel we miss Bosingwa as much considering Ivanovic has been outstanding this season.

THere are still games where we miss a touch of guile and creativity. It's games like tonight where I'd love to see Kakuta given a chance for 20 minutes - we've nothing to lose and rather than pump the ball long in the hope Drog does something magical, having Kakuta try something different may pose a different threat against teams.

I do fear that a one point advantage with away trips to Anfield, Old Trafford and White Hart Lane may not be enough. We've had numerous chances this season to stamp our authority on the league and every time we've not taken it. Our efficient, smooth and sometimes exciting play works 90% of the time. But now and again we need something different and Jose will know that too.

quick question for some of the more critical chelsea fans:

whats causing your 'struggling' season? manager, or players? or both? not a WUM, just interested in your thoughts?

Also, do you think Utd's recent good form has had an psychological on the Chelsea players?

Wow even after a fantastic night for Arsenal, you still don't have any faith in your side's capabilities?

As for being poor, have you forgotten what United did to you on your own ground already?

Well done Everton :)

Man Utd 7 2 4 26 13

Man Utd has earned 2 more points than us away. What's to say that they won't drop anymore points? Compare the away stats us and utd are pretty much the same. We are still the favourites and, I believe, will still be going into that game at OT.

The perfect game to play Alex and he's nowhere to be seen. He must be one p****d off player with the lack of chances he gets considering his form.

Keeping the 30 something players happy might cost Chelsea, although it sounds like it was Terry tonight and not Carvalho who was poor.

Why is someone plastic if they don't believe we will win it?

I've said from the start Man Utd will win it because I believe they are the only team with the mentality.

Out form flatters to deceive, all we have done is reverse our home and away form from the 08/09 season.

On current form I don't think Spurs or Liverpool would beat us, but Man Utd definitely would <ok>

Sometimes you have to give credit where it's due to your rivals.

Arsenal, ruled out by everyone responses brilliantly to beat Liverpool and cancel out the loss at the Bridge.

Man Utd, down to 10 men at Villa Park for most of the game and were the better team, we couldn't even do that a Wigan <doh>

We need to play much better away games, beating Arsenal counts for nothing if we draw and lose either side.

We aren't clearly the best team this year, us and Man.U are about the same and either could win it.

If Man.U and Liverpool were as good as last season we'd have long been out of it, Ancelotti needs to deal with the away from fast before it gets away from us, we could still win the PL if Man.U don't improve, but I'd rather Chelsea not be the best of a bad bunch, I'd like them to really play well, and they're far too inconsistent at the moment.

All that said, we are still top of the table, be happy!

I don't get it, why would you support a team and not back them to do what they are capable? Saying our away record is terrible. It is almost identical to united's other than a draw for a win. Do you really think Man Utd will roll us over at OT? Where's your believe in the team? One defeat and everyone is saying all these negative things, it was only last Sunday we beat Arsenal and everyone were saying how amazing we were.

This is only a blip and so was the Wigan match. Frankly it's wrong to say that we lost because we were poor. Everton played excellently, forced us back and closed us down quickly and efficiently. They didn't give us the chance to take control of the game.

Yes it is true that Man.U need to improve, they may have put in a few good performaces, like Chelsea did in January, but across the season so far both have had good chances to open a gap and both have missed them.

If one of them is going to establish a lead at the top of more than 1 or 2 points they have to get better, so far BOTH teams have missed the chances they've had.

A few good games doesn't make Man.U good for the title, they still have to get better and if they don't it could go down to the wire.

As for bottling it, how about a player getting a straight red in the first 20 when his team need to win???

With only 1 win from the last 6 away games for Chelsea, this is clearly not the form of champions. Chelsea therefore have only a good chance of Premiership if Wayne Rooney should get injured at Manure. Latest odds have Chelsea at 10/11, and Manure at 5/4. I'll take 5/4 in the morning, looks a good bet!

Anyone noticed how wherever saha has been, be it united or everton he always always seems to cause our defence especially jt a lot of problems. JT has been unbelievable these last few weeks but i heard that he was very shaky today, not down to his off pitch antics but because he quite simply cant defend saha. We must take a point of united and beat liverpool away if we want to win this title at the moment it looks like we dont.

A second point, we beat spurs then lose to wigan next game, we beat liverpool then lose to villa next game, we beat arsenal then lose to city the next game and finally we beat arsenal again and then we lose to everton the very next game, surely there is a problem here?

It's a pity more managers/coaches can't be so gracious when beaten. That lot accross the park (AKA The Fat Waiter) should take a leaf out of Chelsea and Ray Wilkins book.

For those who mention Chelsea's away form, or people who mention any stat from the past, just look at the league table and see what is what.

Chelsea are top even with 'bad form' so that does raise questions about the other 19 teams.

I'm not saying we'll win it, but we're best placed and that is that.

Until Chelsea stop leaking goals through set plays both home and away, they are going to struggle to win the Premiership. Is it that the players don't understand how to defend these or the defensive coaching simply isn't good enough? Everton have now scored four goals against Chelsea this season from set plays. This simply is not good enough for a so called title contender.
