Come on you can't be serious, he has one bad game and you want to replace him, Leon is probably one of the best players we have at our club, and whilst his off field life is a little bit of a mess, he is a true professional and that will not be something that will effect his play, or have you forgotten all his truly fantastic games he's had this season whilst this has been going on his personal life?

Couldn't disagree more with this thread. Firstly there were players out there yesterday who had far poorer games than Leon. You can say what you like about Prattley Allen even Bodde but this is the guy who makes us tick in midfield he's a mini destroyer out there. I fully excpect Leon to sign in the early new year by the latest. He will go down as one of Swanseas greatest.

Ok so it wasn't Leon's best game but there were plenty of players who played worse. The guy is an absolute legend.

Leon wasn't that bad, but by his standards he wasn't great yesterday - bit like the rest of the team. I'll be delighted if he signs but I don't think he will. :(

you certainly have selective memory. orlandi was definatly a lot less effective than leon yesterday.

as for 12k a week. has he earned it? yes i think so. mad not to sign me thinks. if you look at him as a player at the moment then i dont think a player that contribute's very little attacking wise is worth that money, but looking at his comittment to his performances for the club then its a well earned reward and good encouragment for others.

think he'd struggle in a 4 man midfield at a physical club, so if he had any sense he'd stay and earn himself a nice pay packet and testimonial pay day.

come on leon, you know it make's sense.

East End, hang your head in shame!! Bet you're one of the boo boys down the Liberty who get on the players' backs as soon as things go wrong. <doh><doh><doh><doh><doh>

Leon has been Mr Consistent for years now and has had my vote for player of the year for the last 3 seasons. Leon struggled mainly yesterday through lack of support from the other midfielders, but he still gave everything.

Is he worth the highest paid contract in the clubs history? Without a doubt. He is the heart of the team and a Jack through and through. I for one don't want him to leave, but if he does I will remember him in the same terms as Curt, Charlo and Robbie James, my 3 Swansea idols from our last golden era!

East stand I need to ask if you think Leon is not worth 12k a week do you think Lopez is worth 14k that he is getting for warming our bench surely electric heating is cheaper although I know the price of electric is astronomical these days!!!!!<biggrin>

Where did hear he's been offered 12K??
Thats a hell of a lot of poke for a club with 15000 crowds to shell out.
and if lopez is on 14K<yikes>
what the hell is Sousa getting?
A wheelbarrow full of large by the ound of it<smiley>

East_Stand think your jumping the gun with this one, if you don't mind me saying! Friendly has made a valid counter to your article, and I too expect Leon to sign soon, can't see him looking a gift horse in the mouth, though I must admit it does seem to be in the lap of the gods at the moment!.........<ok>

Not only should we pay him 12k a week, we should pass the hat round at the end to top up his wages!

The guy is a legend - I'd be surprised if there is a player in the history of this club that has won man of the match more times than him.

Sometimes I wish the east-enders would just stick to singing... ;)

Legend or not, 12K a week is too much for us. I can't believe Gomez is on 14K. If that's true, we are already on the road to ruin.

Thing is its all speculation what these guys are on, nobody but the club and player truly knows what they are getting, its confidential to both so don't stoke the fires please! And Jenkins knows what we can afford to pay our players, he will not take risks by throwing to much money around!

jackthegiant its lopez thats on 14k a week not gomez and Sousa would not have come to the club without Lopez that was a stipulation in his contract and I have that on good authority from friends on the board

I cannoy imagine for one moment the club would leak player wages. Unless a player openly talks about his weekly earnings I cannot see how anyone would actually know. If true, I would be alarmed. The inflated salaries of the early 1980s (esp when we were in Div 1) must never be repeated.
