Thanks for the post, sometimes the interesting ones get lost within the rubbish (i.e Khan is chinny, Hatton would beat SRL etc).

All the stipulations look, great to me. I would hate to see this fight spoilt by it being at a catchweight or non-standard gloves.

I would love to see the fight at a specially designed venue. Otherwise the MGM or MSG are always great.

pacman has also stipulated that mayweather cant hit him after the bell rings and he has to fight with his boot laces tied together and blind folded

I think the MGM would be an odd place to hold this. I’ve been and although it is a fair size they could sell this fight out at least three times over!

Only fair as he is the smaller man.

What's betting this fight doesn't start until 8am UK time or something daft like that?

i want this at the COwboys stadium
111,000 sell out, and a the biggest tv screen in the world to make the action available to anyone in the stadium! this is not just a boxing match, it shouldnt be in LAs Vegas, they'd create history by fighting at the cowboys stadium, it has the roof to prevent rainfall too! only option IMO!

Even though the fight is at 147lbs Floyd will probably come in at 152 and not even care about it.

Floyd could come in at 200lbs if he wanted to. Pacquiao's still gonna beat him :D ...I hope

I'm not the biggest boxing fan but this fight has me very excited. As someone mentioned it's good that it isn't set at catchweight or using non-standard gloves. I got a feeling that Pacman will win this one but Floyd has always backed up his talk so it's hard to tell.

If Floyd wins this fight, I will give him his overdue respect that his fans and himself deserve. I still maintain he has been ducking Cotto, Mosely and Margarito. But Pacman is the deal. If he beats Pacman and then has one last fight, against say Cotto or Mosely and wins that one too then he will be regarded amongst the greatest welterweights, even if he is a natural lightweight.

And yes, this fight should be held in the biggest venue that U.S.A can provide. If the fight were at a 100,000+ stadium, it would be truly amazing. Bring it on!!!

If they want to make it really special, why not hold it outside of America somewhere neutral? Wembley?

they won't though because the yanks only think of the yanks

I would happily stay up for 2 weeks waiting for this fight, let alone till 8am in the morning.

Will Pacman arrange a concert for after this fight?

Some words on the venue. Building a 30K stadium outside Wynn isn't really an option for March in Vegas. I live in Vegas and can report it is a very mixed weather month-usually windy and the evening lows are 40F. Also it would be too short a time period to construct such a facility and get the planning permission-the proposed site is a wasteland and would require a great deal of work.
Dallas, would be an odd choice-purely because Dallas isn't really a tourist city. The history of big fights in stadiums isn't good for actually selling out.
The logical choice is MGM Grand because it has the money and experience-with fight tickets averaging $700+ it will still sell out, plus provide numerous cctv venues at $50 a pop. The other big plus is the sportsbook and revenue it provides for Las Vegas.
I might be biased but I do not like stadiums for watching fights, so it should be Las Vegas where both fighters have fought their last few fights.

"because the yanks only think of the yanks" louisiana and texas are yankee free; "yanks" are british descendants who live in New England.
Why would they want to fight in Wembley? The largest tv audience is the USA, with a higher per capita income than the UK. The "yanks" dot care much for old nationalist, socialist, communitarian/tribal europe, and neither do the rest of the AMERICANS(from the aleutians to the tierra del fuego).

Whats with all the Floyd bashing. He may have a big mouth, but he's always backed it up.

The riduculous thing now is the Pac fans saying that Floyd now has to fight Mosley and Co to cement his legacy...what rubbish.

First they said he was too scared to fight Manny, now these same people know Pacman is gonna get beat and made too look like the one dimensional fighter he is.

I can see him getting schooled like Hopkins did with Pavlik.

After this fight happens, Floyd has nothing else to prove and should retire as one of the greatest fighters of the modern age.

look at the number of visitors, look at the metroplex population....they'd sell out the superdome or dallas, you just want it in vegas. and the betting would go on regardless of where the fight is..gambling is legal in most of the us

I'm a brit (and a massive Hatton fan) and i don't think mayweather will have any advantage if the fight was in the USA. When he fought hatton it was like the fight was in manchester so no worries there plus manny is supposedly the peoples man etc... Personally i want mayweather to win, i hated him before the hatton fight but afterwards most hatton fans began to really like him, first time we have sung another boxers name. I also think he will win, i feel the size difference will tell and manny may have trashed cotto and hatton but floyd had already beaten them.

For me and this is only my opinion so I'm niether right nor wrong, this will be held at the MGM Grand. Purely because it's an established boxing venue with the history and character to go with it. All the biggest fights of the last few years have been held at the MGM and this is no different. And secondly I believe Mayweather will win. I see him as too good a boxer for Pacquiao to deal with. A classy, solid welterweight at the height of his power. Cotto was never at peak since losing to Margarito. He was tough but not at his best. Mayweather is and I firmly believe he will win by kate stoppage or KO.

Well, I am a neutral as they are both great fighters but am glad that it is taking place in the US because if it was held in the Phillipines PBF would get blown away in max.6 rounds.
Much tighter in the states with Pacquiao securing a split decision IMHO. Would not be suprised though for Mayweather to put on a fantastic defensive display and narrowly outpoint Manny.

This fight won't be about who is bigger, or stronger, or faster. This fight will be about who is better - and NO ONE is better than Mayweather in boxing.

Would be nice to see this fight fought somewhere other than Vegas. This fight could be legendary and for that it would be great to have a unique venue. The Superdome would be my choice- superb arena and they need the money there right now.

I somehow feel Mayweather will win it. He just feels the stronger although I like a humble(r) underdog so will be rooting for Pacqiao. Mayweather hasnt had a knockout under six rounds in years so I think this will be a long fight, maybe even going all the way. His defence should see him home though.

First of all, have you been to Dallas? I have and its a great city, but as a place to stay there isn't much to do-especially fight fans. Also the new Cowboys Stadium is huge and great for football, but entirely too big for a fight. I would question if in Dallas, will people travel.
The big reason will always be money and it will be hard to outbid Vegas. Put simply MGM can bid more than the fight is worth in gate money, because it recoups through hotels, gambling etc.
Most fight fans want the big fights in Vegas because they want something to do. And Steve, gambling is not easy in the US. To gamble on fights you require a sportsbook-the two biggest are Vegas and Atlantic City. There are 30 states that allow Indian Reservation casinos, but these are very limited. The most common gambling is lottery. Each and every state as it own laws, so it is very variable. If casinos were so widespread then Vegas wouldn't exist at all.

Yes you are right I want the fight in Vegas! Whats wrong with that? My opinion stands that boxing in stadiums just sucks-done it plenty of times in UK. I'd rather pay $200 for the worse seat at the MGM Grand Arena, than pay $50 for the worse seat at Wembley Stadium for a fight.

The MSG is great but they aren't doing very well with boxing lately. Plus theres a potential schedule conflict with one of the teams that play there.
Dallas is out of the running, leaving the Staples Center in LA, MGM Grand Vegas, New Orleans Superdome. Obviously, there is a big favourite there.

The PAC man is the man to beat at the moment but I think 147ibs is a big risk - 140ibs is his best weight. Also styles makes fights and the problem with the middle divisions is most of the fighters come forward and PAC is the best counter puncher in the world - but Mayweather will never take the lead in a fight so Pac will have to take the lead and try to gain a points victory by bieng offensive. But everyone knows Mayweather is not only a great defensive fighter but also as clever as Roach in the boxing art

Mayweather will be favourite to win as his experience and weight height etc gives him an advantage on paper.
One should not underestimate the will to win plus excellent hand speed and counterpunching skills of Mannie.
It may be either a great fight or great disapointment, or who knows with so much money and possibility of return fights and Vegas one never really knows.
