A game where Liverpool dominated in every way apart from the scoreline is a reason to sack the manager?

27 shots (14 on target) to Birmingham's 5 (2 on target. 11 corners to Birmingham's 1. And, depending on your source, anything between 67-78 percent of the possession.

Clearly you didn't watch the game.

Nine of the first choice starting XI have been out injured. I challenge you to find any team that wouldn't struggle in those circumstances.

And, as bad as things have been, Liverpool are only a game away from fourth place, and have only two more defeats than Manchester United. There are 26 games to go, the season isn't over yet.

-----------------------------------------------

I think it is time for him to go, although won't it cost you 20+ million to do so?

Reasons for him to go:

He is rubbish at buying players, the more he spends the worse Liverpool become, add that to the treatment of Kean, crazy!

Rafa is a good tactical manager proved by the fact that he won the CL with another mans team! but it's all gone downhill since then! and did HE really win the CL, as I remember poor tactics resulted you in being 3-0 down in the final, it was only really a ten minute spell of genious Gerrard that saved you!

Rafa cracks under pressure! proven by last years failure to finish top of the EPL!

as for your injury problems, the way I see it is that it's more of an excuse rather than a reason! The problem is Liverpool are not the same team without Torres and Garrard, although any team would miss such quality a team like Liverpool should be able to cover them for at least a little while without losing 8 out of 9 games or whatever it is.

please don't veiw this as a dig at Liverpool, true I wouldn't miss an apportunity to do so but this is only because I see them as close rivals in every compition we enter, (Chelsea). I would hate to see them fail to qualify for CL!

but I never really liked Rafa anyway!

I think Liverpool are the only top 4 team that has a nailed in stone definite first 11. Arsenal, United and to a lesser degree Chelsea are far more flexible in terms of rotation. Of course 9 top players out will destabilise any team but for me I can't see why, when torres is out, Rafa won't give Ngog a partner up front and give the opposition CB's more to worry about. It seems barmy to play 2 DM's at home to Birmingham when you need the win.

I fear that Liverpool will be humped by Man City, particularly if Bellamy plays. With Liverpool morale at rock bottom due to the incomprehensible tactics, team selection and player selection of Benitez, I can see it as nothing else but a rout. The only bright spot of such an outcome would be to illustrate to all, once and for all, Benitez must go! Only then will Liverpool be able to progress and perhaps stand a chance of being a real force in the EPL once again.

Abramovich spent 40million in managers since Mourinho went.

Our net spend on players is 100million in 5 yrs.

so you spent half our net spend, on managers alone.

On the other hand, you could have spent beans on a manager and then spent double what you should have (City) and only been 1 point ahead of us.
I dont hear anyone shouting for Hughes's job, and he spent about 200mill this year, with massive wages on top.

Include the money spent by MoN & by H.Redknap(Both established managers) who both are only within a couple of points of us, with all their players fit, whilst we have around 10 first team players out, we are deemed as struggling whilst the teams above and around us, are deemed as excelling.

That alone shows Rafa's managerial abillity and the 2nd teams strength, because if it doesnt show this, then it highlights the other 3 managers lack of ability, because they have all their team to choose from and are only 1 or 2 points above us.

I think they need a new training regime!

I think they need a new manager!

They won't get one though, thanks to the deluded scousers unwavering loyalty to Rafa<laugh>

Portlandbill,

"whilst we have around 10 first team players out, we are deemed as struggling whilst the teams above and around us, are deemed as excelling."

Just bite the bullet and face facts. You ARE struggling! Trotting out statistics about the amounts of money spent by various clubs, injuries etc., doesn't detract from the fact that Liverpool, under Benitez, ARE STRUGGLING

By that cut and dried outlook that would mean
you would give 2 to a poor person and tell them to go feed themselves for a week, but by day 4 you would be having a go at them for not having got enough food to last with it.
