Does anyone else get the feeling that, over the course of the next few seasons, Rafa is going to have even more rants directed at Man City


As they overtake you of course, if he's still in the job of course.

I love the irony though, especially as it was a press conference to announce the 17 million capture of Glen Johnson.

He's not started again as he? do we have to suffer another season of bitter, unfunny ramblings of Rafa?

He maybe needs to concentrate on ending his 3 yr drought. the fat porker is still dining out on Istanbul 2005.

Besides, he got lucky not getting Barry anyway as Masch and Alonso are miles better - if they stay.

I fully believe that if Rafa said that the sky was blue on a sunny day, United fans would disagree and claim it was black.

It's unusual that a player who claimed he wanted to move so he could play Champions League moved to a club that isn't playing Champions League. Money was obviously the biggest motivating factor in Barry's move to City. And why not? Good luck to him & City, both parties seem happy with the deal. But they'll have to sort out the defence if they want to break into the top 4.

Exactly right. He is only saying what everyone already knows. There was a time when all managers said what they thought instead of the usual media friendly nonsense they speak nowadays. Cloughie and co were renowned for little quips like this. What's the big deal?

Not quite, but we'd take a look to see if was really blue and I'd be sure to point out the slightest cloud to show he is wrong.

However, when you have spent as much as Rafa has over the years and now have the nerve to complain when others do it then it is fair to criticise.


I think part of it is bitterness he couldn't seal the deal last season and maybe a bit of a shot at H&G in an attempt to get more of a kitty out of them.

I don't suppose he'll lower the asking price for Alonso now will he, to help stop the crazyness?

If another manager, and particularly if he was English, was as opinionated and open about football matters he would be called a character but all non Liverpool fans love to have a go at Rafa.
I dont always agree with what he says or does but I trust his judgement and he was right about Barry if he only wanted to leave Villa for a CL club and yet went to City was is about anything other than money?

I have little doubt money played a big part in this move for Barry. However I also imagine part of it being Rafa himself.

In alot of people's eyes (not just United fans) Rafa made himself look bad a few times last season. Most obviously in the way he treated and then disposed of Robbie Keane.

The way Keane was treated I'm sure will sit badly with a few players.

Ah, the old "Houllier's team won the CL" chestnut, aye?

Ignoring the fact that owen had walked out on us.

And the fact that Rafa paired Hyypia and Carra at the back. And signed Alonso. And signed Garcia. And is 100 times more tactically aatute than Houllier (Rafa's worst performance for Liverpool in the Champions League was last 16, Houllier's best was quarter finals. Getting knocked out in the quarters is a pretty big disappointment these days because of Rafa).

But yeah, it was all Houllier - so was our club record Premiership points haul this season.

Keep it coming lads, sterling stuff.

The Singapore ditty was a pretty tame effort in terms of originality I'll admit, but not quite as tame in overall terms as repeatedly emphasising a club's lack of glory in the past 3 years - before calling their fans glory hunters.
