Wimbledon - day 11

Murray should have won.

Roddick played a blinder, but Murray still is a better player.

Unfortunately for Andy Murray, the moment got to him.

The Championship is Federer's now, like I said before it started, the only person who could stop Federer was Murray.

Murray bottled it. Another Henman.

-----------------------------------------------

That's very unfair.

Henman made it to four Wimbledon semi finals.

Henman achieved more and shouldn't be tarred with the same brush.

Great, and already the comments that he was ALWAYS ALREADY the worst player in the entire world are coming in, sprinkled with a dash of pointlessly and unfairly slagging off Tim Henman again for no reason at all, plus some particularly big man insulting Andy Murray's mother for God's sake.

Everybody's making it out as thought Murray "choked"?

Haha, you lot are really pathetic... He took Roddick (a veteran) to two consecutive tie breaks... Next year, Murray will come back even better.

So that is it. British tennis falls at the end again. And it will do until the end of time. Murray may win a slam but it won't be Wimbledon. He has only 2 or maybe 3 years left to do it and it seems that if he cannot win it no british player will EVER win it again. Murray has the game to do it but it will not win it. So Federer wins it this year and Nadal for the next two years after that. Murray semis next year and the year after losing to Federer next year and maybe an other the year after. I am pleased for Roddick and sick for Murray.
Federer to win 7-5, 7-6, 6-4 on Sunday.

I don't think Murray played very well today. His first serve was pretty dire at times and he didn't live up to his reputation as one of the best returners in the game. All credit to Roddick though who was excellent throughout and the best man won.

As the commentator said, Murray's only 22 and he'll get a Grand Slam title eventually. So when's the US Open?

No surprise Murray lost, he isnt good enough to win a tournament like Wimbledon."

Idiots.

----------------

Its the harsh truth that u cannot take. Murray has talent there is no doubt but he is nowhere near aggressive enough to play against the likes of Nadal and Federer. Murray focuses to much on defence than offence.

I cant believe he lost that.

Couldnt get a handle on the Roddick serve and his 1st serve percentage was disgustingly low for a player as good as he is.

He really needs to work on getting a better 2nd serve. An 80-90mph is just asking to be hit....and how Roddick stepped up to do it.

Gutted for him TBH! I get the feeling Murrays best chance will be on hard court slams...either US this year or AO at some point.

Hard lines Murray, you played very well but up against a top Andy Roddick your 2nd serve let you down. I have no doubt you are the most talented player on tour after Federer, in time hopefully you will iron out the creases in your service game. I hope Roddick wins on Sunday but don't see him replicating the kind of performance he produced today.

Not sure why you would say this. Roddick is pretty famous for his fast and dangerous serve which he does often.
He will need all of it because Feds has already destroyed several "big servers" in straight sets.
I am a big Murray fan but am chuffed to rocks that Roddick gets another go at Wimbledon. He is a terrific fella.

"No, it's just boring watching Federer or Nadal win everything."

That would most likely have been the case if Murray had won today....

In last year's US Open final, Federer beat Murray in straight sets. Men's tennis over the past few years has been a story of either Nadal or Federer winning the Slams, with one or two players only winning one Slam on a rare occasion.

Murray is good, but the british press makes you believe that he is THE BEST. Which he is not.

He may win a GS someday, but as long as Nadal and Roger are playing (and playing well)he's gonna have to wait. Don't count on him winning wimbledon specificly though.

That is one of the most disappointing sporting performances i've seen. Murray is close to missing the boat, history says that you must have won a slam by 22 or generally speaking you don't win one. Sure he had a lot of pressure but champions come through matches they're meant to.
