D-Day has finally arrived - or has it?

Its in the bag for Glover...likewise, I don't really like journeymen winning these tourneys - Its rare they ever go on to do anything else spectacular and they generally retunr to being solid pros on tour as 1 major wonders, Hamilton and Curtis cases in point

Good effort form the Fish but another case of what might have been for Mickleson..

I don't mind an unknown not winning, it's just an unkown without a personality that annoys me.

Case in point was Lawrie winning compared to Van De Velde.

Fisher in the clubhouse with -1

Duval in the clubhouse with -2 and leads the house with mickelson.

barnes at -2 and glover at -4 the only ones out on the course.

Bogie is enough for Glover to win the US open

Glover can't lose now..... can he? Bogey for a win with a 354 yard final hole.

Did I hear that he teed off with a 6-iron?

I'm LOVING it!! I'd hate to play the course though. Reckon Fisher may be a little too far out of it, but Barnes is wilting and Glover.....well, it's easier to chase than be leading!

Glover's 2nd shot is on the fringe of the green..all he needs is to putt it in with 3 strokes.

I'd be the choke of chokes if he blows that one.

Whoever wins deserves to win. You can't win majors by mistake. In this age of star worshipping, everybody wants name to win, as though "no name" winners haven't worked as hard or merited it.

Phil at US Open is like Federer at French Open - let's hope he emulates the Swiss one day.

I'd LOVE Fisher to win. Just to shut them up. Doesn't matter where or when, there's always one tool who'll shout "IN THE HOLE!" when Woods hits a drive. Pathetic.

Do we think Tiger will insult the field at the post-round interview again, saying something like how close he came to winning despite being in the worst weather and coming from 10 shots back etc etc. No doubt he had a 'bunch of fun' though...

Extraordinary champion but well done to him. This must make Colin Montgomery feel sick. Surely Monty was better than Lucas Glover, generally speaking.
Glovers life will now change and well done to him. Duval is also a winner and Mickelson and Fisher also made the tournament fascinating.
Great Golf in terrible weather all week.

You see, that's what I'm talking about.

He should have been jumping up and down like a madman, this is the best thing he has ever done in his career and he gives a little whimper of a fist punch.
Pathetic.

I do agree with whoever said about the Tiger comments though, no doubt he'll tell us how rubbish and underserving Glover was very soon.

Anyone feel like it's a bit of an anticlimax?

The crowd around 18 were very quiet after Glover putted for victory.

Oh well, you've got to expect these jouneymen victories, usually one each year. I'm looking forward to the Open far more - my favourite major.

Also - come on Murray!
