Just like to say that not all Exeter city fans feel the same as jonny-g.
I for one would like to say well done Torquay, it's great to you have back in the league, it's good for west country football in general, three teams in the football league, nice one.
Good luck for next season

Birmingham fan here - though Torquay have been close to my heart for many years now. Great to see The Gulls back in the league - I have full faith they'll avoid relegation and mount a serious campaign for promotion in the next 2-3 years.

Well done Torquay!

Lol grecian_jonny_g you aren't going to wind anyone up or get a big, angry reaction.

I'm sure we all appreciate your valuable, expert insight, but do run along now. :) This is a thread for football fans, not kids trying to pick fights. ;)

or someone expressing knowlage, I'm not trying to pick fights! lol

Just being nice to the Torquay fans, if they know before hand then they won't be too dissapointed next season.

No you run along and do whatever you do with yourself in your spare time

Jonny-g, how you can say you are expressing KNOWLAGE or even knowledge, is beyond me, I have been Exeter fan for many many years, and yes we had an exceptional season none would argue with that, but whats to say that Torquay can't mount the same kind of challenge, remember nobody gave us a hope 10 months ago.
I'm sure there will be some surprises next seasons.

They have a trophy for 2nd place in League Two? Shocking, although, in fairness, it's the best the Grecians could ever hope for.

Well done Torquay - fantastic to see them back in the league, and hopefully, now that they are well managed and run, they can make an impression in League Two.

I not saying that Exeter will find it easy next season far from it, but I do beleive that SJP is fast becoming a difficult place to come and get a result, I think we can gain a very respectable mid table finish. I am looking forward to seeing how the boys play in front of 32,000 when we travel to the likes of Elland road.

Congrats to Torquay United on their return to the Football League, i have always admired their team spirit and it looks like they deserved it today. As for Cambridge, they shouldn't have been so cocky after beating us 3-1, yes they did deserve it as they were the better team however they celebrated too early in ny opinion and i am glad they lost.

Pride before a fall Jonny. Now that you are playing in aleague where all the teams are starting with 0 points instead of -17,reality will hit home. You will get slaughtered next year because you are now out of your depth. It took you 5 years to get out of the conference despite the lack of quality opposing you but you wont take 5 years to get back into league 2. Feel free to bokmark this and post it next season if I am wrong. The Gulls are back without the need to go begging to the taxman in order to survive. Loving it!!

These play offs are a farce. After a whole season the teams that are in the promotion position should go up without play offs. Cambridge Utd after a season of 46 games ended up second only 3 points behind the leaders but lose promotion to a team that ended up below them. The position of bury is even worse. They ended up one below promotion 1 goal difference, but got knocked out by a team that ended up 9, yes nine, points below them. End these stupid play offs now.

To thestellarst, everyone knows the rules at the start of the season. There are play-offs for those four teams below the automatic promotion spots. As a supporter of a team who failed in them (not this league), at least we were there to compete. More worrying is that away goals don't count double and the tie can end in tears through penalties.

ANyway, well done Torquay - glad you're back in the league and hope you do as well as Exeter. It's good to have the South-West well represented in the league.

Don't listen to the bitter Exeter fans - they forget how cack they were a couple of years ago.

The League would have benefitted far more from Cambridge United's promotion that the 'going nowhere' Torquay.

At least this club can boast two spells in the second tier of the English football, taking the scalps of notable teams such as Blackburn who won the Premiership only four years later.

Football is about a season not random cup successes one match a decade!!

That said, I'm not sad to see Torquay back in the league as greater representation from the various geographical areas of the UK is a good thing.

Cambridge United are a disgrace. They spend all their time trying to get opponents sent off, including yesterday with Tim Sills but the ref wasn't fooled, unlike in both semi finals. Delighted to see them fail and with their chairman claiming there will have to be cutbacks may they stay out of the league (and hopefully sink further!) for many years to come!

stevenage fan in peace, congratulations to torquay on promotion back to the football league two cracking goals and you fully deserved the win.

But oh dear poor old cambridge for the second year running 90 minutes away from the football league and you blew it again i take it that you love the conference too much and you want to stay in it.

you messed it up again, you messed it up again staying the conference you messed it up again

Being an Argyle fan with a son who supports Torquay i didn't have much choice in going to Wembley. But, having watch the game i though Torquay were definitly the best side, play some good football and finished of well. The best team won on the day and i even cheered them on on occasion! (not easy standing up if you love torquay, but then you have to to see the match...) Well done you yellows!!!

Congratulations to Basil, Sybil and Polly (no, I'm only joking) for getting back into the Football League.

Hopefully you'll keep clear of relegation trouble and stay in the Football League - as it should.

Oh dear Boroboy85 - sour grapes eh? My God, you're such a poor old sod.
And don't you start about Oxford, who again failed to get out of this league. You managed to do the same, albeit for about 10 years and not three, like we did.
