Utd 2-1 Blackburn

Liverpool 4-0 Blackburn

How's that happen?

Blackburn lineup against Utd:
-----------------------------

Robinson

Ooijer Nelsen Givet Warnock

Diouf Grella Andrews Dunn Pedersen

Cruz

Lineup today against Liverpool:
-----------------------------

Robinson

Andrews Ooijer Nelsen Givet

Treacy Mokoena Tugay Warnock

Dunn Samba

It's pretty obvious to see which lineup is the weakest, and this has been happening for Liverpool all season.

Can't blame em for taking advantage of their luck but still a tough pill to swallow.

In this vein of form there is no one better in world football right now than Fernando Torres. Utterly brilliant.

Torres seems to do his job day in and day out recently scoring so frequently.

Its upto the other players to play the same game as Torres. He cant defend and score goals, come on lfc

Brilliant performance from every player on the pitch, everyone had a right to be man of the match, but Fernando Torres is absolutely exceptional.

Will United be able to cope with the pressure?

Blackburn were embarrassingly bad. Liverpool fans, don't get too excited about this result as you may as well have played against a schoolboy team.

Flukechester should cope with the pressure today, as they are playing a poor side, the bottom teams in the PL are ridiculously poor, besides in the PL they always get an additional "bonus" by referees in case they need it. Against Porto it will be a different story, Flukechester will hardly stand a chance, Porto's attackers are just to fast for the currently cracking ManU defenders. Later they will crack up in the PL when opposition is stronger. The question is whether Liverpool take that opportunity or miss it. Next weeks will be a nightmare for Winenose

I think Blackburn did that to themselves to be honest but we did pass the ball and play exceptionally well today!

Great performance against a relegation threatened team. If we do get knocked out of CL then we won't have as many games to play as Man U and Chelsea who also have FA cup games to play...

theres not much else we can do apart from winning and hoping united will drop points. but we're running out of games and they have alot of home games left and we have quite a few away games to do. i cant see us winning the title, which is shame considering we've had a good season with some memorable results. plus it'd be fitting considering its 20 years after hillsborough.

People keep saying if our Champs League run comes to an end, we'll have the advantage... I think it's going to demoralise the team and might be reflected on our Prem results. I for one hope it doesn't come to an end & I can see the lads fighting it out on Tues. Obviously everyone will be backing Chelski to finish it off, but when we're the underdogs on a Champs league night... we've all seen what happens!

Liverpool are not going to win the PL, United are in a bad patch which has gone on for 4 games now, it won't keep happening, that was it and you had a chance but somehow they won agaist villa and sunderland.

Liverpool will have to hope, Arsenal, man city or middlesbrough can do something. There the only points i can see united possibly dropping (Yes Middlesbrough united always seemd to mess up away there)

Well done Liverpool. As a Chelsea fan, I would rather see Liverpool win the Premiership than Manchester United so this win will continue to pile the pressure onto Ferguson.
The Champions League however, thats hopefully ours this season.

Yer id rather see chelsea win it that united. Blackburn were so bad today it was unbelievable. The hardest part for us was maintaining concentration. Should of been 6, and i thought we were only good, not great. Gerrard would have had a field day had he been on. Blackburn are a shocking, shocking team.

-----------------

1. Having Santa Cruz up front instead of Samba is already a given.

2. Putting five in midfield to stop anything going through against Utd yet against Liverpool, because of injuries they play only 4 including the pensioner Tugay which allows Liverpool all the space and time they want.

3. Key players such as Diouf, Cruz and Pedersen out that would've put some sort of pressure on the Liverpool defence.

It's fairly obvious to any football fan that this team today was considerably weaker, and it's fairly obvious you know nothing about football.

Manchester United fan here...

All I want to say is that all true supporters of any club are first supporters of football. All true supporters of football know that it has its place.

In the end, regardless of what our instincts tell us, this game we love so passionately is just that. A game. Life is of far greater value and respect for the departed makes winners of us all. I for one know what it's like to lose a game on the anniversary of a tragedy. I also know the elation that comes with honouring the memory of the departed with a win. And so while I remain a loyal supporter of my chosen club, I wish to be extend my sympathies to Liverpool FC, the fans and the families of those who lost their lives at Hillsborough. I also wish to extend my warmest congratulations to the team on their wonderful victory in today's game. Indeed, today of all days, I'll say with the Reds: You'll Never Walk Alone.

I thik Spurs will give them a game, and don't they have to play West Ham too? If so, that could be tricky - Man U don't have a great record against them.

I gree though, time's running out, and I hope, rather than expect, Liverpool to win the PL this year. Still, we've at least had a good run this year, which should hold us in good stead for next season (yes, that old Liverpool chestnut!).

NEUTRALS- What a season in the premiership this is turning out to be. By far this is the closest and the most realistic chance the know-it-all Scousers have had the win the elusive title. Chelsea are pushing there too. Man Utd are being stretched to the limit and the excitement is building to a great climax. Surely it will be a historic event if United's supremacy is overhauled by one of the chasing pack. Next season perhaps may not be the same for Liverpool though.

i have to say that although it has been said that when gerrard and torres play together they play their best, I slightly disagree and this match proves that they have the ability really excel when they aren't playing in the same matches. They are both top players and i think that liverpool can win this as long as the team make wise decisions.
