6 Nations Weekend

England are absolutely pathetic. This is some of the worst Rugby I have ever seen. Are they playing the same standard of the north of crappville blind league. Armitage is absolutely rubbish. Every time he gets the ball its like ohhhh my god i have got the ball what do i do now. Thats even if he catches it. He has teflon on his hands again. Why is he being picked when he is that rubbish. The best player has been substituted. Harry Ellis has played well and he is now warming the bench. If they kick the ball any more then it might as well be a football game. Thank god they have brought tait on. At least he can run with the ball.

Reflections:-

Obviously, it was good that England won; many observers were predicting an Italy win (though their independence could be called into question), and I myself wasn't toally confident in England's ability to win. The game was dictated by Italy's poor first-half, which was as a result of a flanker being picked to play scrum-half. Five tries is something that I would have taken at the start, but given the scale of Bergamasco's ineptitude at 9, England should have done better; the worst aspect was that there was no incisiveness in the attacking play. There were however some plus points; Ellis had a good game, and the lineout went like a dream. Cueto looked good on his comeback, and England didn't do badly at the breakdown against a mighty Italian back-row. I guess we move onto Cardiff next week; my hopes for that game have diminished slightly, but a win is a win.

A superb England performance, should have won by much more, bring on the Welsh!
On route for the grand slam.

England were so bad it's unreal! Italy just gifted them a win in the end, shame Mallet didn't have the confidence to start a proper scrum half, no matter how inexperienced he is, he played a good game and Italy played a lot better with him on and not gifting 3/4 tries away. A massive opportunity lost for Italy to win that game.

I couldn't even bring myself to comment during the England v Italy match. What a shocker by all concerned. Things MUST be better in this match - I fancy Ireland by 5 points stout

Welp, turns out that 36-11 to England is actually a moral victory for the Italians? I just can't keep track of these new IRB rules.

OK then, off we go. Part Deux. Go on Ireland - get a win and make this competition interesting !! On current form, anyone could win this. But Fortress Croke is a tough place. After the dismal England game, these two teams will show us how rugby is meant to be played.

I really do feel sorry for the fans who paid hard earned money o watch the majority of the England team kisk away possesion time and time again, when will the management get it through to them that you can't score tries without the ball in hand, for god sake every time easter got the ball he was squaring up to hoof it up the field what the hells wrong????? and surely if you are going to kick wouldnt it be advisable to find touch? or have they widened twickenham maybe thats whats caused the problem. A very very poor display England italy were unlucky England were very very lucky the welsh must be licking their lips in anticipation of recieving all that possesion next week. Dissapointed !!!!!!!

Excellent Quote from my 7 year old son, who slept through the first half.

Woke up to see the first part of the second half and asked

"Why are they playing football?"

We may have won by 25 points but that calls for whole sale changes that performance already.
I'd keep the front row, bring Shaw in for Borthwick in the second row, and then go with the Harlequins back row of Skinner, Robshaw and Easter, with Skinner captaining on debut. Then I'd keep Ellist at 9, play Geraghty 10, Armitage at 12, Tait at 13, Foden at 15, and keep the wings as they were. Some inspiration, and certainly more excitment in the back line.

"chewy you'll be chewed up and spat out at Cardiff Son!........."

We shall see. Myself, I believe that there's a certain tendency on this board to overemphasise Celtic achievements; I reckon Wales will win next week, but it will be tighter than you lot reckon.

Clearly you've never played 'austin'. Not alot gay going on in this sport. I presume you may be a fan of kiss chase known widely as football?

Would like to see both teams play really well. All teams to stuff England may give us the thorough shake up most (england) fans have been wanting for a while. The games not the same without a decent english side putting up a fight

England have a lot of work to do. They look lacklustre at best and against a better side, they would have struggled massively today. Ellis and Cueto look the only 2 class players on the pitch. But more than anything else they lack a true leader. Borthwick is directionless.

I don't agree with Ellis getting MOM. From England's point of view Kennedy was a better bet (Solid as a brick in the lineout) and from Italy who can deny the greatness of Parisse. He would be in anyone's world XV. As a Welshman I think I would even go as far as to give him the nod over Capt Jones.

Please get rid of Goode. England do not have a chance with a number 10 that can only kick and run sidewards. He needs to be on the beach far far away from an England rugby shirt.

Why when we have the ball do we continuously kick it away? Also why all the silly (both were) yellow cards?

Johnno is a great of our game but he needs either to get a grip or go. We are clueless tactically when we have some good players. Having played on the wing I feel sorry for Paul Sackey.

The problem with England is that to win against the best teams with their tactics requires dominance of the breakdown, lineout and scrum, and they haven't had that since 2003. With the ball in space they look a bit clueless.
