ITK....

Mate please dont invite all this on again - the non-stop conveyer belt of drivel from all the so-called ITK's was tedious enough in the summer. Most of them are full of BS and just quote things from websites or newspapers - or just plain make things up. There's any number of players we could or could not get in Jan, but until there stood there wearing a spurs scarf with Harrys arm round there shoulders we'll just have to play a waiting game and see what occurs.

I'm with Il padrino, made up transfer rumours bore me to tears and I really hope that there is more than that to talk about on 606 come January.

It will not be Michael Owen dont you know anything about THFC ?

We have a wage cap and there is no way Owen will take a 50 thou a week wage drop to sign for us. doh

Don't you listen to anything that the club actually says?

We don't have a large transfer budget this January, simple!

Expect very few signings, and those that do come in will be cheap!

Harry always springs surprises, transfers are his stock in trade.

I have no idea who he will bring in and I would be surprised if the media do either. Any info Harry releases will be suit his negotiating purposes.

Best policy; wait and see.

The previous management team effectively trashed the club's 2008-9 season by allowing Defoe, Keane and Berbatov to go. Bent, Pavlyuchenko and Campbell simply haven't got the same 20+ goals per season touch, so we urgently need a new strike force. Apart from strikers, Ledley simply isn't ever going to be fit enough again to provide us with the steel we need at the back, so am experienced, hard-as-nails defender must be a priority.

How about Crouch and Defoe? Dump JJ, keep Zok and O'Hara and save 15 million not buying Downing...and if poss get Arshavin (missed boat there) and a CB...then again, Zok has always done a job there.

ID rather keep ohara than get donwingsyndrome.
Strikers are paramount if spurs are to salvage anything from this season, also if zokora goes, yes please, then a new dm to come in as hudd is still not quite there yet. Also a DECENT LEFT WINGER WITH LEFT FOOT we have needed for years, not donwning a decent one.

Isnt that the same board that said they wouldnt get rid of martin jol, werent interested in ramos, didnt want to sck ramos, never heard or harry, always wanted harry, wasnt going to sell berbatov to man utd. wouldnt let keane go etc. I think you listen to too much of what the club says, this being the jan transfer window and over inflated prices if spurs start boasting how they have a 20-30 mil budget i think you'll find clubs popping extra noughts on to the end of their players values.

Just a case of wait and see, we need to be careful we dont just buy people for the sake of filling positions without really thinking about what they can bring.

Will be an exciting few weeks.

Striker and CD for me is essential

I'd like to see a decent left winger come in, but it's not going to happen on the cheap. Even if Daniel Levy does put his hand in his pocket, there won't be many options available.

First and foremost, strikepower is needed. Lots of talk about Cavenaghi, but I doubt he would cut it in the Premier League. He has always been a striker with a lot of potential, fast and good in the air, but he had never fulflled it. Now he is having a great season at Bordeaux in the French league he's suddenly a great striker?

Heskey operates in a lower-table area, he's effective, and he revels away from the limelight. That luxury will not be afforded to him at Spurs. He may work hard for the team and supply assists, but we need someone to put them away, not set them up. Again, he's a case of a player in form being mistaken for a player good enough for the upper echelons of the table, which is what we need to buy if we want to climb the table.

Everton are said to be interested in selling Leighton Baines, and if Harry sees Bale as a winger, Baines would compliment him perfectly. There are still question marks over Assou-Ekotto defensively, so Baines would give him a challenge.

Scott Parker has always been a classy player, even if he has played for West Ham and Chelsea. Given a decent midfield around him, he could find the form that persuaded Chelsea to pick him up. So he'd be a good buy, especially if Zokora leaves.

Frings is a very good player, but I can't see him coming from Werder Bremen to Spurs. It would be better looking at Sebastian Kehl from Dortmund, a regular for Germany and a great holding midfielder. The Midfielder formerly known as Prince(-Boateng) could well form part of the deal.

A centre back is less of a priority given that even if King is injured, there are still Woodgate, Dawson, Rocha and Corluka in the squad to play there.

If Spurs get a decent striker and go to 4-4-2, we could see Modric moving to one of the wings along with Bale, Lennon and Bentley, and in the middle there are Huddlestone, Jenas, Zokora/replacement and O“Hara, although this doesn“t look very strong and will need sorting in the summer.

It seems clear that Harry doesn“t rate a number of players and he will be looking to offload them now or in the summer, such as Gilberto, Gio Dos Santos, Cesar Sanchez and Adel Taraabt.

I'll bring in a Goalie that shouts at his back four, Midfielder that can do what Scholes does for Man U and a Striker like Defoe that we wrongly sold and the heart and passion of Harry!

OUT -- Pavluchenko and Zokora to Real Madrid to get some cash in and some of the Fringe players used in P.Exchange perhaps. Bale used as a P.Ex too ?, doesn't seem to be top of Harrys pops.

IN -- Cannot believe Levy would sanction paying more than £9m for Defoe and I really
do think Middlesboro will hang on the Downing at all costs. Bellamy isn't worth £12m, he is too injury prone.

LEFT MIDFIELDER/WINGER WITH A LEFT FOOT! New goalie although Gomes has looked better recently. Desperate for a striker and would love to see Defoe back again, CB and a defensive hard working central midfielder who has been around the block, experience is key.

I think spurs badly need a new keeper Gomes is not premiership material he never holds on to the ball and he is no Buffon

After a string of wise words, OneDayRemains said:

"A centre back is less of a priority given that even if King is injured, there are still Woodgate, Dawson, Rocha and Corluka in the squad to play there."

Wha!? Ledley *is* injured, and always will be - the matches he plays in, he hasn't trained for. While he's undoubtedly a world-class defender, how long can this situation really continue?

Woody has been relatively injury-free since he arrived at the lane, but he's notoriously prone to injuries, so if Harry's got any sense he won't gamble on Ledley and Woody never getting injured at the same time.

Corluka is good cover, but at the moment we need him at RB (I spose we've got Gunter, but he seems to tire after 70mins or so). That leaves Rocha, who shows some promise, but isn't really good enough to be trusted with a prolonged run in the first team. I'd favour Zokora.

As for Daws, he's a very good player (strong in the air, reasonably quick, good tackler, much better passer than Woody) but he can't cover both centre-back spots, and what do we do when he's injured?

Oh, and to anybodybutunited008, who said:
"I think spurs badly need a new keeper Gomes is not premiership material he never holds on to the ball and he is no Buffon"

You don't know what you're talking about, mate. Gomes is world class, just took a while to settle. And he does hold on to the ball, more often than not now, just had a couple of games when he started where he seemed to prefer punching, but that's been fixed now.

Spurs board of mis-directors are useless. Big losers this transfer window, but the signings are OK even so.

Jol what did you do to upset Levy ? just think, with Comolli gone and 'arrys freedom, the world would have been your oyster.

Levy..........go now!
