If that kick of his had gone in it would have changed the match completely. As it is we're one goal up and they've had no choice but to press for the equaliser.

But we've defended well so far to keep them out. What bothers me is we'll just settle for the one goal.

Put it this way: it'd be nice to win by more than one goal for a change!

Well, congrats to Liverpool on a fine performance. The record ended today (we didn't lose the record, we still hold it) but at least it lost to a team that came to play, and won through merit.

Despite some of the things that have been written on the Chelsea board recently, we were largely caught out because we have a weak front line. Anelka just isn't the man. Kalou isn't good enough either. He gets the occasional goal, but he's never someone who is going to change a game on his own. When we're throwing on Sinclair and Santo in the hope of giving us a cutting edge (neither have the experience at this level) you know we're clutching at straws.

Still, the season isn't over, and this won't decide it. Liverpool were the better team on the day, and the better team usually wins. So be it.

Enjoy your day Liverpool, there's a long way to go, and we'll be there chasing.
