Arsenal with 63% possession and 23 shots.... hmm, yes, sure they were outplayed.

I suppose you're also talking about the goal the refs stole from Adebayor?

are you deluded or what???

Hull scored their only two chances and they won because they defended superbly, but to say that we were outfought when we were constantly on the ball and had a series of chances is absurd.

As shocking as the result is, it was merely down to missed chances, but it was nowhere near the shambles of Craven Cottage. Plus their equalizer was unstoppable.

Wenger has just one decision to make. If Gallas can't win a header sooner rather than later, axe him for Djourou.

I posted this on another thread but as the linked thread from the BBC match report I'll post it here:

This will happen at regular intervals throughout the season due to inexperience, too young squad and not EPL savvy enough to stand up to the full on agression.

This is what we're talking about when we say Wenger's policy, although it can produce scintillating displays from youngsters at times, is not one which can carry the team through a long season and win trophies...sorry.

By the way, is that Cousin ex of Rangers? Surely if it's the same one you could have rubbed him up and got him a red card?!

Why did wenger replace wallcott with C.vela. Arsenal were at least creating chances with him on the pitch

'But Hull regained parity with a sensational strike from Geovanni, who skipped past a challenge on the left before drifting infield and smashing a right-foot shot that thundered into the top left-hand corner of Almunia's net.

It was the Brazilian's first goal for Hull since joining in the summer from Manchester City. '

Geovanni scored in the first game of the season against Fulham.

Get it right BBC.

Man Utd fan in peace.

I was pretty certain Arsenal would win this match by a mile (No disrespect Hull fans), but what can I say, Hull dont seem to be push overs, they mean business.

You can have all the possession and chances in the world BUT if not made to good use.....

No point saying 'Had we taken our chances' coz u didnt, well not as much as you would have liked.

Yh, Man Utd penalty wasnt a pen, even Sir Alex said that.

You pass the ball waaaaaaaaaaaaaayy too much!

Utter utter rubbish. I have been the biggest defender of Wenger and the way Arsenal play but this is simply unacceptable. 6 games in and we have already lost to Fulham and Hull, and when we went behind we didnīt even look like scoring.

Wenger needs to invest or we are gonna be overtaken, maybe David Dein was right and we do need an investor?

I would be delighted to never see VanP and Denilson in an Arsenal shirt again, ever.

I will slate Walcott tho, the goal we did score was 100 % down to him.

Nice to know weīve blown the league already.

theres always 1 idiot who has to write a stupid opinion about the match...no one was outplayed. Congrats to hull. You played very well. Arsenal need to work on their finishing...especially van persie and eboue

Arsenal should have bought a rock at the back in the summer...unless arsenal become ruthless like they were 4yrs ago, we will probably lose more games because arsenal are a joke at defending set plays.

arsenal play beautiful football but sometimes they either fall asleep or daydream. Hull's first goal, honestly how many times could an opponent have that much space and time against arsenal. They remind me of titus bramble.: super defender but always makes one or two mistakes, but the mistakes are telling because they get nailed.

I couldnīt care less about OPTA, I would rather see a player whose passes reach other Arsenal players.

As for VanP, technically gifted as he may be, I would rather have a player who worked hard and didnīt slam the ball wide or over the bar, however hard he does hit it.

Diabolical performance by Arsenal. Toure has cost Arsenal two goals, two weeks running. He was outjumped by Davies at Bolton and lost Cousin for Hull's winning goal. v. Persie needs to work on being a team player. What a shambles. Embarrassing and humiliating, hopefully they will feel ashamed to live their homes for a while.

this has to be a truly amazing result, i suspect that the 1st 11 were in fact smarting from the result of the young guns, it seems again we were passing it all over the park again and unable to find the net, sounds a tad familier to me also i think AW pre match praise in fact back fired! far to much mention of Hull! by doing so this had an undermining affect of the team.

By all means applaud them for their achievements, but dont make them out to be better than sliced bread, they are not!

Hull got a win nothing more, not good news for AW or the 1st 11 and many i think should feel considerable shame about this result and will need to ask themselves some serious questions! i suggest if a few of these 1st 11 cant hack it, then bring in the youngsters!!!!

Im not sure what affect the ref may or may not have had, the fact is we leaked 2 goals to a very average outfit, who come the end of the day will be just above bottom thats for sure, AW and Senior Gunners need to learn from this result and learn fast! wield the axe AW if required i do not wish to see us loose to such mediocre opposition in such a fashion thank you

no excuses the simple fact is we should not have lost to HULL! ref or no ref

get it sorted!

we do not need to buy anyone!!!!!! what he needs to do is wield the axe!! simple as that, there is no place for those assuming they just have to turn up and auto selection, bring in some youngsters, put them on the real stage and make some of our seniors take notice! that is what i would do. Time to get tough and accept the consequences.

We lost to Hull. United drew with Newcastle. Liverpool drew with Stoke.

It's just a question of who can respond to these disappointments.

And In Arsene Wenger, I have no doubt we will respond with some style.

I applaud your optimism, I just get the feeling that having lost 2 games already is a bad sign, we havenīt even played the good teams yet.

ManU have dropped points, but they have played Pool and Chelsea away, Pool may have drawn at Stoke but they are top.

Some our the crap in our first team needs to be turfed out and Nasri canīt come back quick enough.

Lets be honest here and say to win this league you will have to score more points than Man Utd. Today Arsenal blew a chance to make a 4 point break on United, assuming United win their game in hand.
Man Utd have started the season slowly, but you can find reasons, such as the injuries to key players, and one suspects they are about to hit form like this time last season and blow everyone away.
Today proves Arsenal are not ready to take the next step, and they are heading for another 3rd or 4th finish at best. Chelsea and Man Utd will fight out the title, and Liverpool will battle out the minor placings with Arsenal.
When we reflect at the end of the season and Arsenal are 5 or 10 points off the leader, the predictable reflecting will take place, and no doubt include talk about the lost points at home to Hull City. Today was a bigger disaster than anyone actually realises, and if Arsenwenger has any title aspirations whatsoever, he must swallow his pride right now and buy some players.

It has the feel of a turning point already, especially as Chelsea have avoided such a humiliating defeat and are now alone in the 'Big Four' in that distinction.

But it's quite possible this is the season the league gets more competitive and we don't get something like 80pts coming third in the table like we have in recent years. If that isn't the case, then these defeats are very costly indeed.

What can I say?
City are not going down. We can make a game of it with ANY team in this league (apart from Wigan for some reason).
Its not as if the gunners had the usual "long trip in Europe" excuse, as professor yaffle had a 2nd string XI out in midweek.
What is really upsetting is we scored all 3 and only won 2-1.

My honest view is Hull are a flash in the pan! and will struggle as the season goes on, once again Arsenal have failed against the weaker opposition! to much complancency? or what? please leave out the rubbish Hull are a good side they got a result for now its dreamland for them, they will savour it as well, no problem, but putting into proper perspective no need to get over excited but AW really needs to think! and think hard, lets see the young guns and yes I am defo having doubts about Gallas! serious doubts about him to be honest.
