I can only assume that you lot have Duncan Fergusons treatment table still in use.
smells of desperation.

A desperate player for a desperate club. Could be a good match

Why is he desperate. If Everton can keep him fit he is a world class striker hes proved that in games for United France and Fulham. The big word their is "IF".

hes been so injury plagued during his time with us that fergie has probably let you have him on the cheap- just to get him off our wage bill. if he stays fit then this will be a great signing for you. i cant see him being any less injury plagued with you than with us though

Quality player. Fergie said he is on a programme now, and has been all summer to get himself back to 100% and to finally put a stop to his recurring injuries.

Im disappointed he's leaving, gutted actually. The guy has it all. Pace, Power, Aerial ability, hold up play, good eye for a pass.... such a shame. Great signing by Moyes, and I'm sure he was not the only manager in for him.

The guy is class. One of the reasons he gets injured in my opinion ( and you will see this..)
is that he often lunges and overstretches when going into a tackle. he sometimes brings it on by a poor touch and then tries to make up for it. have seen him get injured like this many a time. Overall if he stays fit and you get 20+ games out of him then he will surely be a good buy. Better than Johnson in every department !

Shouldn't you be concentrating on your now one-man team and when your spanking new Netto Arena is going to be built, like 2050?

Clown.

Sorry mates but you're being sold a sucker. He gets injured so much it's unreal. He's a very good striker when not injured but he's not better than Yakubu at scoring goals. He freaks when he gets into one-on-ones. Otherwise he'd be brilliant.

When he isn't injured he is a great player - if you can get him for around 8milllion it would be a great buy.

Just because a player is injury prone at one club doesn't mean that'll continue at another.

Prime example is Djibril Cisse. He was injured all the time at Liverpool, but banged them in last season in France. And he's already scored for Sunderland.

Personally, I think Everton should be going for bigger names than Saha. After all, the Everton faithfull can't be happy they're pinning a good chunk of their goal hopes on a Man Utd squaddie.

awful signing for everton, an this is coming from a united fan. he will be constantly injured, on big wages and is too similar to the yak to be a good signing for the toffees.

YES! WE GOT RID OF HIM!! Everton. Good luck.

That's a little harsh. He wouldn't be a squaddie if he wasn't so injury prone and our squaddies are still better than most first team players at other clubs. Such as Fletcher.

Saha pass a medical? Your joking arent you!!??

Most injury prone player I can remember.

However, if he can get fit and STAY fit, he is one helluva a striker.

i think hes an awful player if im honest......i think its a desperate attempt for everton to fill out their squad

and for Man Utd they are now one striker less than what the had in the first place

If Saha stays injury free at Everton he will be a very good signing. He was instrumental in the 2006-07 title win and is a top striker IF he can stay free of injuries. A bit of a gamble Everton fans.

If Saha passes his medical Everton should be straight in the market for some new doctors...

Saha won't be going anywhere.

"Saha is set to join Everton, subject to a medical"

If Louis passes a medical, Everton need to seriously question their doctors' testing.

| complain about this comment

posted Aug 29, 2008

Its still subject to a medical. And looking at Saha's track record, he will probably get injured during that too. I heard they had to get him to Goodison Park in an ambulance biggrin.
On a more serious note, I get the feeling Ferguson is confident of getting a new striker(hopefully Berbatov) which is why he's offloading the burden on the wage bill by getting rid of people who are not going to play a role in the 1st team any time soon(Dong, Saha, maybe even Silvestre).

This is a gamble.

I think he's been training for the past year just to pass this medical. Come on Saha you can do it, pass the medical and then take the wages. You can do it louis, you can do it.

At the right price I think that Saha will be a gamble worth taking. Yes he is injury prone but as dariuzthepole says that doesn't mean he will be constantly biffed at Everton. Moyes is a sensible man and a Scot - he's not going to throw money away in desperation! Besides Saha has all the attributes of a top striker and, when fit, has scored lots of goals pretty much wherever he has been.

Have faith Everton fans - depending on the price you've paid he could be a bit of a bargain.

To be fair Everton are about Saha's standard. A very average player in a very average club and almost never fit. Everton have been punching above their weight for a few seasons and with a signing like this they will return to where they belong at mid table.

there are some truly awful jokes been told on here , dont these people read before they post. saha and the yak up front, cant see them struggling for goals at all, maybe saha can stay fit for a season and become 1 of the suprises of the season , like martin laursen at the villa , hes captain there as you may know

Didn't he get injured once walking back to the changing rooms after warming up before a match??

Didn't he just bang his knee on a door or something?

When fit though he is a quality player.

As a United fan i've got to say it could turn out to be a great bit of business. However, that is if he stays out of the injury room. On his day he is a quality player and we saw glimpes of it in the 06/07 season.

If Saha stays fit and produces the form that attract others to him then it will be the signing of the month. Proven scorers in him and Yakubu upfront, Cahill to come back, Neville pushed forward into CM, could very well be a secure turning curve for Everton. I heard EFC fans earlier saying they didnt want nobodies so here Moyes has got someone. Just remains to be seen on his current fitness.

How did he pass the medical?!

| complain about this comment

posted Aug 29, 2008

How can you consistantly "punch above your weight"/"overachieve" for 5 years ( forgetting that 11th place 4 years ango), that's like saying Liverpool have underachieved for 19 years because they haven't won the title. Put simply, they aren't good enough. That's not a jibe at Liverpool, they were just the most clear example. How long will it take for people (especially the media, yes we have broken the Sky 4) to realise that we are where we belong.

Why does he have to have a medical? He'll never pass it!!
As a United fan I'm glad someone was willing to take him off our hands, quality player for the 4 games a year he is fit!

terrible business, decent player, but so is Kieron Dyer and I wouldn't touch either of them with a barge pole. Now he's over 30 what makes you think he will have his 1st injury free season in about 4 years.

How did United manage to get some mugs to buy him? Great bit of business, thanks you Toffees.

He only plays when 100%!!!

when is anyone 100% ?!?!?!??!

think he will get more games as i don't think everton will make him train as hard. this aint a baised but think they will have lighter training sessions.

this signing could go 2 ways:

1) plays 80% of games and gets about 14 goals a season

or 2) gets injured and plays 40% of games and proves to be a bad value player

what this signing shows is that everton are getting desperate doh

Potentially good for Everton but with his lack of fitness I doubt it. Added pressure for United to sign a new striker now.

Great striker when he is fit, but... Very unusual for SAF to criticsize his players as he has done in the past with Saha with his attitude to his fitness and injuries. So his attitude is clearly an issue with Saha therefore undoubted risk for Everton, depends on the price I suppose. Unlikely to be a 20 goal a year striker for Everton, but could go on a spree now and again. Does this mean Berbatov is on his way ? United now dangerously short of striker cover...
