Thanks for your writing, top work all round and much appreciated. Well done to all the rowing team for their contribution to our medal haul. The work you guys (not including Nick) have put in is staggering and for those who have come across rowing for the first time in these games please have a look at the training schedules these guys go through, I did this time round and even the guys who get knocked out in the first round are titans. Brilliant all round.

Great blog and (music?) videos Nick, top work! Well done to the whole GB squad, really proud of you guys and girls. Fantastic to see a GB 8 rowing so sweetly and right in the mixer. Its been emotional!

Thanks Nick for all your funny stories, really appreciated hearing all about Beijing and the build up. I can't believe you swam out to the boat afterward! Good on you, but was the water as bad as the Thames?

Congratulations to Al and the rest of the 8+, I hope you’re all still celebrating!! And thanks for some very entertaining videos!

well that is a rather strange and ill informed comment, but you often get folk who are always negative no matter what happens. This is often due to their own shortcomings and ignorance, and they feel that they should pull apart other peoples achievements.

It is a strange but sadly true factor in Britain that there is always a bitter minority that complains and knocks any achievement no matter how great or small. I'd imagine that you would still complain if we actually won something at football.

The fact that you are talking about henman is a bit wierd, the fact that you think that all the members of rowing squad are from oxford and cambridge is quite amusing. And it is rather sad that you don't think that someone who managed to stay at the top of his sport from 1992 (barcelona) till 2000 and won more consecutive olympic gold medals than any other sportsman in history is not worthy of praise or impressive.

We are top of the medal table in the rowing, and fourth in the overall standings.

Lighten up, put your pork pie down, stop watching gladiators (it is a stupid program), pull up your pants and go for a run or something.

Just wanted to say a massive well done to all TeamGB. I came out to the rowing having very little interest in it at all but by the end I was one of the most hysterical supporters, even if the greek pair vs the uk pair caused a terrible dilemma for me in terms of who to support. Nick Heathcote's blog has been hysterical and I've really enjoyed it - I can even see myself in some of the pictures inappropriately dressed in a yellow sundress with absolutely team colous on - unless i was a secret chinese supporter. I hope you guys have a well earned break and a special message to colin smith who I came out to watch to row - WELL DONE - IT WAS UTTERLY UTTERLY FANTASTIC AND WE ARE SO SO VERY PROUD OF YOU. Enjoy a very well earned rest and here's to 2012 - and beware - the Greeks are coming!

and who are you 'nick heathcote' important enough to make an ill-judged comment on me??

you don't know who i am, what i do and i reckon i'm a lot more hard working and contributing to society than you ever will.

And stop referring to your precious team GB as 'us'. What do you mean? I don't necessarily support them and don't feel people should look down on someone just because of their opinions.

So I suggest you look in the mirror before getting all abusive towards another 606 member, and accept other peoples opinions.

And just for your information, if 'we' won at the football (and I take it you mean either England or an imaginative 'Team GB'), I would not be bothered either way, as I don't support them. But if you don't even read peoples profiles before making assumpions, then I suppose thats another of your frailties!

pot calling kettle black there I think old chap. Must have touched a raw nerve. ha ha.

If you make negative and childishly abusive comments on people's blogs to start with you can't expect to remain free from criticism yourself. That is both quite arrogant and ignorant.

I am perfectly within my rights to wax lyrical against the nay sayers and negativity which often comes across from jealousy and ignorance. But you seem to feel you can go ahead and write what you want on other peoples blogs with no consequences.

You are in the tiny minority of people who seem to believe that the British achievements in Beijing are not praiseworthy. I say lighten up, again! and get with the spirit of the Olympics! And keep your thoughts to yourself in the future!

and where did you get 'tiny minority' from ??

what stats do you have to back this up. have you asked the 40million+ people who live in this country that are aged 10 or above? or is it magic ?

erm that is what you're doing.

when is the next regatta by the way, where oxbridge meet up to discuss recent events???

Oh dear...you really are embarassing yourself now aren't you?

I really hope for your sake you don't continue along this tiresome thread. It smarts of tedium and illiteracy.

I see that the administrators have already removed your cruder comments. Not surprising as children tend to log on to this site and it is rather irresponsible to write in your crude manner.

Perhaps you should stick to what you know? Very little?

I guess in your cave you missed the Olympic fever that hit the nation. I could confused you with large numbers and statistics, but that would be dull. You really are quite dull aren't you? Why not try a hobby?

And anyway the likeliness of children going onto the Rowing 606 is pretty slim.

Think about it...
