Lets hope we have a Tremendous Tuesday and make it our best medal haul ever. All of Team GB should be proud of what we've achieved at these games so far. We've come a pretty long way in 4 years. A glance at the medal table proves this. Keep it up Team GB!

Sigh, the 49er sailing race has now been referred to the CAS.

Apparently the Spanish team weren't happy with recieving their silver medal & congratulating the Danes on one heck of a race (starting 4 minutes behind & still finishing 7th in a field of 10), so they turned the case over to the CAS.

So much for deciding things on the water sadface

Paul Hession : fine runner from Ireland, I wish him the best of luck.

I saw the boxer Price advance for Great Britain. Maybe there are 4 boxers left in that weight class? I don't know. I'd think 3 of them will get a Medal.

This has been a great Olympics from Team GB so far and hopefully its going to get even better.

We've won more gold than even Dick Whittington could have imagined.

Re: Price and boxing - once you get to the semi-finals, you are guaranteed at least a bronze, there is no 3rd place "box off" - both losing semi-finalists get a medal.

I think a few Golds are guaranteed in the cycling as no-one can match the pace of our 2 sprinters. Cavendish and Wiggins are favourites for the pursuit too so I think at least 2 golds today! smiley

At least soft porn says what it is on the box. Enough of this on the BBC, please don't give it any credibility, even at 2am. Any sport that specifies a maximum bikini size for women should be booted, tout suite, no questions allowed. I'd rather watch the test card.

Since its so quiet on the interesting sports front:

OK, anyone else noticed that, since the Labour Government came to power, we have steadily increased our medal tally?

1996, at the end of the disastrous Tory era, we achieved a measly 1 gold medal and just 14 others, on the back of cuts in education causing the cancellation of sports teaching in schools etc, the wholesale selling of school playing fields, and the collapse of swimming and other sports as part of the curriculum.

By 2000, with the initial expansion of school funding, and the start of the lottery funding coming on stream, we were up to 11 golds, with 21 lesser medals.

In 2004, we only got 9 golds, but we reached a high in lesser medals (as sailing and cycling began to achieve their potential) of 21.

Now, in 2008, with the lottery funding beginning to bear fruit, and the huge increases in education money allowing schools to bring sport back to the heart of what they do, along with additional monies for after school clubs for everything from chess, through football to ballroom dancing, we’ve achieved 12 golds and 15 other medals by the beginning of week 2. And there are clearly many more to come.

OK, I know it’s wrong to judge a government solely on its commitment to sport – but, with the Olympics in London next time – I sure know which way I’m going to vote!

*Yawn* Good morning again all. How is everybody's body clocks holding out? And are we optimistic about today?

Are there no real sports on this morning? Wouldn't it be better to show highlights of yesterday rather than this travesty of a sport, where your bikini line is more important than your talent?

The body clock is well and truly ruined mate sleepyok

Very optimistic about today with at least 2 more medals guaranteed. We have competitors in the cycling too so we should get a medal or two there considering how dominant we've been on the bikes so far.

Some women's javelin qualifying round highlights would be nice this morning... instead of watching the unolympic (but admittedly fun) interludes at the beach volleyball
