I think Terry put in a brilliant performance, but you do have to question why he took the penalty, he is not a natural penalty shooter, Carvalho should of taken it.

When you are in a penalty shoot out you have to use your brain, not your heart, and I think thats why Man U won.

I also blame Drogba for getting sent off, Terry may not of had to of stepped up if Drogba wasn't so foolish. It's a shame he had to end his Chelsea career in such a disgraceful way.

I'd like to congratulate Man Utd and their fans for a brilliant final, hopefully we'll meet you again in the final. But for now, I have to say you are the better team.

I really enjoyed that final. Great game, and a tense penalty shootout. im sure most neutrals willa gree on that. I wanted United to win, so was very happy with the result. Well played both teams.

Watching last night's final it dawned on me, more than at any time previously, how detached we the fans are geting from football these days. Seeing 2 English teams full of millionnaire players in a foreign country it dawned on me how little it mattered about the fans. The fact that thousands of fans travelled in tough conditions so many hours woyuld have mattered little to the players, who went through their own personal anguish or celebrations after, caring little about the fact that some fans forked out a fortune to get to Moscow. Yes the fans of Man. U will be delighted this morning, I doubt many will feel like I do, but as a fan nowadays you sometimes do get these sensations that your support means nothing, is easily replaced, the team cares little whether you travel to every game or just watch them on TV, the players change every year, and as fans we contribute little beyond funding these entities and get little in return.

An even first half, Chelsea utterly dominated the rest of the match and were desperately unlucky.
Cech didnt fall for ronaldos stuttering run up for the penalty, hence Ronaldo didnt know what to do and shot tamely. But for Terrys slip, Chelsea would have been winners. Lucky united

Aside from the result, last night's match pleased me for two reasons.

1. The performance of Cristiano Ronaldo. People say he doesn't turn up for big matches. Do they get bigger than this? He was the best outfield player on the pitch. Hopefully this will inspire him to achieve some consistency, arguably the only thing that is now missing from his game.

2. The quality of the football being displayed. All the sour scousers and gooners who were bemoaning what a poor match it would be! United were playing some stunning football in the first half, and Chelsea showed real quality and determination in the second. After 20mins, rarely a dull moment for the next 100!

A great advert for these two teams, and a great advert for English football.

My heart goes out to Grant, Terry and Lampard, and most of the other Chelsea players...

...but not to Drogba.

It was such a great performance from the both sides. Man utd try very hard to keep chelsea quite for a while and after they conceded one goal in the last minute of the interval...i was very tense...fortunately...everything was going alrite and UTD still managed to get away with the triumph in their hand...
Way to go...another champ next year for UTD...hopefully :)

As a neutral, Utd were lucky to win the CL last night.

They were totally outplayed in the last of the 1st and all of the 2nd half. A bit of luck regarding the shots that hit the woodwork and it would have been all over.

But hey these things happen.

Great game, either team could of won.
Tevez should have put the game out of site, Lamps got lucky, but Chelsea dominated the 2nd half.

All 4 centre backs on show were amazing, Essien more than made up for his shocking first half, and Claude Mak to quote Belletti "Phenomenal".

But at the end of the day, Kenyon, Ballack, Obi Mikel et al deserve nothing in life. And ask for Drogba.

We've won it 3 times!!! We've won it 3 times!!!

That was a great game and thanks to both teams for an entertaining game.
It was boiling over all the time and i dont know how Ballack took so long to get booked. C.Ronaldo was immense but my man of the match would be A.Cole, thought he was up and down defending and attacking throughout the whole game! Chelsea fans must be gutted and its hard to take but congrats Utd fans.
Chelsea were mauled in the first half but the second half roles were reversed and man utd were battered. Heres to next season!

CONGRATULATIONS UNITED - European and English Champions 2007/2008
Thoroughly deserved I think that there are few that would argue that United are the best team in Europe at the current moment. After all the heartache of the nine years Porto, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan to name just a few the tropohy is rightly where it deserves.

As a United fan I am so proud of the team but Chelsea fans should also be very proud of theirs they gave a good account of themselves. Fantastic performance from every United player on the pitch people say Rooney was quiet but his pass to Ronaldo who slid it to Tevez could have meant the game was 2-0 and won. Ronaldo although he missed his penalty (but hey you know I think we'll forgive him for that) proved he is not a small match player with a fantastic goal. The back four were fantastic as were the midfielders and Tevez.

They say luck evens itself out and to iwin a cup competition is what you need. Chelsea have to remember that if it were not for John Arne Riise's rather fortuitous own goal they could not have been in the final. It was a shame it had to finish on penalties but those are the rules and United came out on top.

The fitting end to an amazing season and a perfect tribute to the Munich Air Disaster. I thought it was really good that Bobby Charlton went up first in the presentation line up. A fitting reminder of how Munich will always be in United fans hearts but also how far our club has come.

Absolutely delighted at the quality and drama of the match, which has definitely humbled Platini after his pathetic anti-Premiership comments, with English players on both sides such as Scholes, Ferdinand, Lampard and Terry putting in great performances.
Obviously I am ecstatic as United won, and either team could have won it on the night. However, my heart does go out to the sporting elements of Chelsea's team such as Lampard and Terry etc. I am sure I won't be the last to say, though, not to Drogba, A. Cole and Makelele to name but a few persistent unsportsmanlike offenders.
And if Avram Grant is sacked after losing on a penalty shootout and taking Chelsea to the last day of the season neck and neck with United, it will be a travesty. He should now have earned the respect of most of the footballing world.

Leeds fan to say well done to United. Best English team this year, well deserved.

Anyone that claims United were lucky must be joking. They bossed the first half, Chelsea scored one of the luckiest goals I have seen. Two deflections and VDS slipped. They could have been 3-0 up at half time.

Chelsea bossed the second half, which makes it an even game, extra time was even as well, with Chelsea hitting the bar and Man United having one cleared off the line.

The only lucky part of the match was the penalties and you can't win anything without a bit of luck.

Until you gooners face up to the reality of Arsenal and Wenger simply not being good enough, you're destined to be forever the also-rans.

I'm delighted obviously but I have to say so so harsh on JT and Lampard, a lot of distain is poured on Chelsea but no-one can say those two don't encapsulate everything good about modern footballers.

For my beloved Manchester United lets carry on, enjoy this, but don't stop. Roy Keane summed it up in his autobiography when he said that he couldn't believe players in 99 were saying they didn't care if they didn't win another trophy after that triumph, there had better be no such comments this time around. It's time to dominate Europe while keeping focus on the Premier League because IMO you dominate your domestic league as a priority.

This is why we love United they have us on the edge of our seat until the end, they make us laugh, fill us with amazement and pride, and moments like last night when Sir Bobby led the team up the steps brings a tear to the eye.
We never do things the easy way though, chelsea were the better side second half but when they hit the woodwork twice you just had that feeling in the back of you mind, 50 years since munich, bayern hitting the woodwork twice in 99'. Could this be fate???
United have that magic and the history about them that not many other clubs have. I for one am over the moon for Fergie and most of all Giggs and scholes what a pair, Ronaldo? how can he leave he is the worlds best and at the worlds best club under the worlds best manager.
Fair play to chelski and especially Lampard after the time hes had recently he was gracious in defeat, and you have to Feel for Terry. But DROGBA!! what a disgrace, im so glad that might be his last act for chelski, he was shown up for what he is a cheating sore loser. What a great game, were MANU lucky? No way, Chelsea were lucky to get the goal it was more like pinball than football! We played Chelsea of the park for 40 mins, should have been 3-0 up. I do need to admit though that they were by far the best team in the second half.

Three quick points:

1) the irony is that VDS slipped for the goal, Terry for the penalty. Which one mattered more?

2) What ever anybody says the best team won. The only team to go unbeaten to the last game.

3) I see the break up of the Chelsea team now. Drogba will go, Lampard will go (Both to where ever the special one pop's up next). One or two of the players are a bit long in the tooth and will need replaced. The Russian who keeps the bench warm will be gone, and in the meantime Fergie will add a couple of young players to the squad, get rid of a few (Saha take note) and we will be back and ready for it all again next year. <cheers>

Well done to the fans who travelled to the game, my mate was there and said never saw one bit of trouble.

As a neutral - the better team didn't win. United only dominated the last 25 minutes of the 1st half - Chelsea dominated pretty much the next 75 minutes.

And no matter what team you support - penalties have no business deciding any game especially one this important.

Penalty shootouts are not even the same sport - it's like deciding the final frame of a world snooker final by playing darts instead. Utter stupidity.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD, MANCHESTER UNITED!

Oh and what a night, what a game, what a fitting way to finish the season.

The game had everything from the good to the ugly, but all I can say is I am glad United picked up the well deserved trophy in the end……….but was it in any doubt! 

Was pleased with SAF’s attacking intent, playing to our strengths and not Chelsea was always going to see us dominate more of the game. We should have been 3-0 up at half time with the chances Tevez and Carrick had.

We totally dominated the first half only for in the last min; Chelsea do a trade mark hoof up the pitch, the ball deflects off two players the goalies slips and lampard tucks it in. Extreme fortune at the very least, their only shot on goal in the first half from two deflections and a goalie slip, you couldn’t make it up (this was about the same time ITV produced stats of passes complete in the first half, they were Man Utd 128, Chelsea 62………more than double and who is the long ball team?, haha)

Ronaldo stole the show in the first half, Essien tucked in his pocket, beating him with ease and rising high to tuck the header home after 26 mins after a lovely move involving Scholes and Wes Brown!

Second half Chelsea were more the dominant force, but like barca, created little clear cut chances aside from the shot from nowhere from the disgrace Drogba and lampard hitting the bar.

Lampard claimed Chelsea dominated proceedings after 20 mins……..which shows his mind was absent. We scored in the 26th min, had two shots brilliantly saved in the 30th, and another 5mins later went begging after a great ball from rooney. Chelsea were not in the game until the second half.

However, I am pleased Chelsea showed themselves up as the moaning, whingers they are. Constantly surrounding the ref, how ballack was not booked for harassment I do not know. Carvalho should have been sent off for a studs up challenge. Yet Chelsea still harassed the ref despite a decision barely going United’s way.

Fitting end to drogba’s season, so glad to see to the cheat be sent off in the pinnacle game of world football.

Alas, Champions of England, Champions of Europe, Fergie, United, you are the greatest!

P.S. – John Terry………..dry your eyes mate! HAHAHAHAHA

LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
