Live - Wednesday football

I don't care where you're watching it tonight, people, we've got a couple of absolute crackers for your delectation.

Now, admittedly, West Ham co-owners David Sullivan, David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady will be notable by their absence from St Andrew's tonight - but it's still a potential barn-stormer of a Carling Cup semi-final second-leg tie in Birmingham.

And in the Premier League, we have Liverpool v Fulham, with both sides looking to continue their own recent mini-revials.

The line-up...

Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Fulham 2000

Carling Cup SF
Birmingham v West Ham (agg 1-2) 1945

And here is the place for all your chat, people. Lovely.

Dan, no-one over the age of 15 would use your line of argument. Hence I believe it's time to turn of the PC and go to bed!

The only team that could potentially give Barca a fight is an in form Chelsea and seeing as their legs have effectively gone I can't see anyone standing in Barcas way again for European glory. All the other english teams are saying Barca will trash and they will if there form continues but united, chelsea (spurs) will all want Arsenal to win because inevitably one will have to beat barca, its inevitable
-------------------
Fair enough, but I still think we'd have a decent chance against them at the moment. Our only problem is that we are too quick to raise and lower our game depending on the opposition.

Honestly I'm rooting for Arsenal against Barca, although I'd say their chances are slim at best. The sooner Barcelona are out the better, and I'd say we'd beat the Gunners over two legs 9 times out of 10.

To be fair, only one of those was dangerous/ dirty. You'll probably remember as it was against your lot. The rest were petty; two yellows, handbags (Sagna) etc.

Hardly brutish, but I see the point you're trying to make.

My comments aren't aimed at people like you. You seem like you use your brain and can formulate your thoughts eloquently in text form.

It's the arrogant Gunners who just belittle any other smaller team that is irritating. The worst of the Gunners are more arrogant than any other team in the League, almost as much as Barca fans despite not winning anything for 5 years.

I agree your reds weren't huge issues, but I enjoy reminding the obnoxious fans of your teams record. Anyway, heres to it being a great game and hopefully less one sided when you came to us!

Dan -

Now then lad go to bed, haven't you got school in the morning? don't be bitter about Arsenal's stylish football!

---

Lol, 606 cliche #242. Actually I'm 31 and have had a little bit to drink, but even I know that Arsenal won't beat the big boys or win anything of substance playing like a poor man's Barcelona.

For all Arsenal's 'stylish' play, they've still scored far fewer goals than say, United in the league. All style - tippy tappy football - and no substance. I mean what's the point?

It's not 606 cliche #242 this season more 606 Myth #12!

Arsenal's football has been far from pretty this season, they've had their wonderful moments sure but they're actually starting to battle a bit more than they used to which ironically is getting them closer to a title.

So the football we've been telling them as rival fans they need to play for the last 5 years which they refused to because they want to be Barca has finally been adopted by them in their desperate pursuit of a trophy!
