Charlie Adam

Blackpool
comment on the article

Morning Tangerines, Liverpool fan in peace an all that.
Just wanted to say i think Charlie Adam is a superb player, i watch alot of the lower leagues and watched alot of him last season, subsequently i put him in my dream team this year and kept a close eye on him. I can honestly say he has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the premier league this season easlily. His range of passing, eye for a final ball, shooting and creativity is top class. I would love to see him in a Liverpool shirt.

My reason for the article is just to sympathise with your sitauation and to empathise with you because i think some of the 'bigger' clubs are taking the pi55 out of you, only bidding 3-4m for Adam is a joke. Given his age and ability i think he is easily worth 7-10m. I think our club along with others are trying to bully you because you are a premier league newby and have less financial clout compared with most. I hope you stick to your guns and get a fair price for your captain.

Also for the record you have played some quality stuff this year and have been a credit to the premier league, Holloway is different class and i hope you finish off the season like you started.

The fool believes his own hype, hence why he's angry about club's not bidding what he believes to be mkt value. And how dare a club like Villa, currently below pool, bid for one of pool's players. How very dare they!

No doubt Adam is having a good season and has looked a good player but top quality players perform season in season out, Adam may prove he is top quality but after twenty odd games he is far from a top quality player yet. This is the same player who was chased from Rangers for being overweight and for half a million little over a year ago. Blackpool have been a breath of fresh air and Holloway may be correct in that Adam is at the right club as it remains to be seen wether he could have the same impact at a bigger club.

I'm a Liverpool fan and to be honest I am not that fussed whether we sign Charlie Adam or not. We have more pressing concerns in other areas of the pitch, especially now Meireles looks as though he knows what day of the week it is..

Would just like to point out though that it seems the only person being disrespectful - i.e. discussing all details with the press, insulting other managers and other clubs, insulting his own squad by saying CA may be the difference between staying up and going down - is Ian Holloway. I like the guy but when your side has been class on the pitch all season surely a bit of calss off the pitch from the manager wouldn't go amiss. Just a thought....

As for Villa, your bids did take the p , especially given your current predicament. 24M for Bent and only 3.5M for Charlie at the 2nd attempt........
get real.

----------------------------------------------

Thing is though, Darren Bent has been a PROVEN Premier League goalscorer for about 6 seasons with over 2 years left on his contract. Villa were always going to have to pay a premium price to get him. Charlie Adam has been quite good in the Premier League for five months. Whilst Blackpool should hold out for a price they see fit, they'll never get say 10 million for him.

It's laughable that people on here are saying that because he didnt make it at Rangers he's not a quality player. Get real. He has gone down south, gotten himself fit and has been the best player for a team doing well in a league that is night and day compared to the SPL.

He didnt make it at a club that is famous for player power ousting Paul Le Guen because he banned burger suppers.

You're quite right, Misguided...the only person gobbing off is Holloway.

He's a bitter, faintly ridiculous man isn't he...and whoever told him he was funny...is an idiot.

Clearly Ian Holloway is not just 'an idiot' as you put it, otherwise his players would see through him and would not be prepared to run through walls for him and his team's cause.

If he was an idiot, Blackpool would not currently be in the Premier League, never mind nearly halfway up the table, needing just 4 more wins to make it to 40 points and likely Premier League survival.

We all follow United (U3043782) seems to have got this spot on imo. Maybe Blackpool will get a big fee and Adam may turn into a top quality midfielder but five months is early to call somebody a top quality Premier League player.

was always an adam fan during his rangers days altho he nevr cut it at ibrox he played evry old firm he was fit for and most of the champions lge games.the boy always had what it took to make it at the top, hence why walter would always pick him for the big games
liverpool could be the best or worst decision he ever makes, but if he can hold down a place in centre midfield and not be a bit part player on the left wing, then i really believe he'll make it.
during his raangers days i bet a friend 50 he would play in the premiership at some point in his career, and have another 50 on the way if he gets to barca or real before he retires
(also the free kick against the celtic when he puts it under the wall...genius)
