Fair result, what a game, missed sitters, woodwork rattled, penalties turned down, deflected goals.Phew, points shared, again. No defeats for Blues this season against the enemy, with one win, it`s progress : -)

Is Bentley at Birmingham long term or is he just using them as a springboard ? Are Loan signings always beneficial ? have a look at this.http://expertscolumn.com/content/pros-and-cons-loan-signing

If we can make Bentley feel at home and liked and if we can show signs that we can start to play none negative football and lastly pay him a decent wage, then unless bigger clubs come after him i think he could sign.Like Hleb...Problem with Hleb is he may not be as happy with our tactics or role he is given and we wont pay £60K+ a week wages to get him.Problem with Bentley is Harry would want £10Mso far i have to say we need to play either Bentley or Hleb RM and either Beausejour or Hleb LM.And we need to play either Gardner or Hleb at CAM.Then play 1 of Larsson, Gardner, Fahey or Bowyer with Ferguson to make the midfield 5.Maybe Michel needs chances alsoThe KiD
I'm sure it was a great match for a neutral, but for me nervewracking. A fair result, well played to Blues for ending our run of pathetic results against Villa. For that 20 mins in the first half we played some of the best football I've seen us play, but then after we finally got the goal we got played off the park until Villa got the goal and then it was 50/50. Phew. Just hope next week is a straightforward 2-0!KRO
After all that, I'm left with 3 questions4-5-1 at home again, class in the form of Beausejour left on the bench in favour of journeyman Fahey...does McLeish have no ambition to actually take a game by the scruff of the neck and win it rather than try to huff and puff, get a lucky goal then try to hold on?Can you really stay up by drawing most of your games against mediocre opposition? Is there any difference between Bentley and Benitez? If we wanted a tricky creative no.11 why didn't we know this in August, and stick with the one who was so popular and effective last year?
Fair result given how many times the vile hit the woodwork (but I would just that that was God playing for us)Felt sorry for Derbyshire..did anyone really expect him to compete for the high ball against the Villa centre halves? And if not, why didn't we get to more of the 2nd balls?Whilst a low crowd - only 22,000 - if you included the police and stewards it would be closer to 28,000! They were overkill at the end and were there more for the FA to see so the club can say it is doing all it can to avoid a repitition on the CC game.
RIdgewell was unfortunate this time for our goal.
I Agent Ridgewell . In all seriousness, it was such a good game to watch. I was disapointed that we couldn't get a second in the sustained pressure towards the end but ah well, out of the relegation zone and on the up!Thought you lot looked good today too, the quick free-kick to Johnson in the first half had me worried for a split second and you were unlcuky not to have another goal.
Is Gerard Houlier delusional? He always seem to be happy with the performance and says Villa are always improving. When is he gonna wake up and realise that Villa are massively under-performing in ever department. With Martin O neill, he would always have a fair analysis of the game.I still cant believe Villa let Martin O Neill go so easily. Randy Lerner obviously knows nothing about the game. O neill was one of those truly rare managers like Ferguson or Wenger.Villa will never have another manager like that and I cant see a Top Ten finish in the next five years.
I still cant believe Villa let Martin O Neill go so easily.---------------------------Houllier's record is better than MON's winning tougher competitions. I wish everyone would just give him a break. I though the Fonz looked sharp today, I think he needs a run in the team.Draw was a fair result and if all the derbies are going to be as exciting as that, then I say great.
Watched the match in the small hours in New Zealand. Exciting, end-to-end stuff but too many crunching tackles for my taste, especially from Villa. I've seen similar games controlled by this ref who seems to let stuff go that other refs might pull up. Bentley will be an asset for Brum. Thought he pulled his weight and then some.
