Who can explain it to me then.....

Premier League Newcastle United

Explain this performance, because I really don't understand. How poor can they be?? And why???

On a side note I'm beginning to think Nile Ranger isn't all he's been made out to be. The guy is a striker, so really shouldn't he be judged on his composure and finishing? And so far all I've seen of him is he is no real threat infront of goal, except to himself.

Oh and PS that red card was an awful decision. He was nowhere near the player, played the ball and the referee needs to move to reffing cricket if that tackle offended him. Girl.

OK so prelier league players are fitter? YES
But Stevenage are a proffesional club? YES
They are ALL human beings? YES
Human beings get physically tired after lots of work? YES

SO Newcastle are tired and play poorly + Stevenage play well in the second half = Stevenage 3-1 Newcastle

You cant deny that Stevenage almost having a winter break with all the postponed games didnt have a physical advantage over the 'super fit' Newcastle players
====================

Stevenage are only just a professional club having come up from the non leagues, but with a far less superior budget than newcastle...

Not all players in the lower leagues get paid enough to be full time at their clubs and sometimes have to have two jobs

If they get games postponed they probably cant train either as they dont have all weather training pitches or indoor failities at a drop of a hat unlike prem clubs

I'm fed up of hearing excuses of footballers playing too many games and are tired...rugby players take bigger hits but just get on with it and are paid peanuts in comparrison...Also players in the pre 80's played almost as many games but didnt whinge about playing too many games and being tired and they had players like hunter and chopper harris that went to beak yr keg in a tackle!!

I agree in some ways and Stevenage deserve their plaudits but i think we will have to agree to disagree on the tiredness situation lol. I'm guessing you are indeed a Stevenage fan, Well done for yesterday smiley

No not a stevenage fan, just nice to see any minnow get one over on the big guns...its whats the fa cup is all about...and to be honest i'm annoyed at the stupid amounts players are paid these days for doing very little in a job they all enjoy and most folk would take a fraction to do.....!!

I'm a Newcastle fan and I say well done Stevenage. They were the better side yesterday and deserved to win.

We were dreadful, hardly managed a shot all day and against league 2 opposition this is a disgrace. Tiredness can't be an excuse, these are superfit professionals who play at the highest standard. To blame tiredness is an appalling excuse.

The truth is we weren't good enough on the day.
Our squad lacks depth and we need to spend in the transfer window, but, we all know, that Ashley won't do that.

Had to laugh at the 'brave' supporter clumping the Stevenage player. Ran away like a little girl!!!

One team wanted it, the other didn't. Cold dark evening in January in grim Stevenage with a team ready to mix it up, some of the Newcastle players obviously didn't fancy it.
