Live - FA Cup

FA Cup
comment on the article

Still the greatest domestic cup competition in the world and still one of the great days on the English and Welsh football calendar. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the FA Cup third round.

One of the great days on the English and Welsh calendar... unless, of course, you're Roy Hodgson. The former Inter Milan and Fulham boss has left Liverpool "by mutual consent" with Kenny Dalglish taking over until the end of the season. Massive.

As the fallout from that continues - all of which I'll be bringing you in my commentary - we've got a monstrous day of domestic Cup football for your delectation.

A total of 27 ties, book-ended by Arsenal-Leeds and Stevenage-Newcastle, a promise of intrigue, excitement and incident - and the hope of the odd Cupset here and there.

This is the place for all your chat - FA Cup, Roy Hodgson, the lot - so what are you waiting for?

Get involved people.

There have been some nice ones, but the Buckminster with its black pentagons was a landmark in football history. I still find that it's the easiest on the eye to play with.

I didn't realise Stevenage were league two! WOW

I thought they were in the Blue Square Premier League. They must have been promoted back to the league at some point.

Underestimate King Kenny at your peril. He's been with the club a few years now as ambassador, and has been involved in everything. The Academy, scouting, coaching, playing games with the little kids. He's been talking with the owners about the future, he was speaking with the previous board, he was speaking with Rafa about football. He isn't out of the loop in footballing terms, because an intelligent footballing man will always adapt.
