Good signing for us. Bentley will want football and if the Blackpool game was any indicator our style will suit him better than the stuff we have been playing up til now.

As a Spurs fan I'd say good luck to David.

He had a torrid start to his time at Spurs as he joined amidst the mess that was the second half of Juande Ramos's year in charge. He was always going to struggle to replace Aaron Lennon and was never really given the time or security to properly find his feet.

However, I have always thought he was a classy player with bags of talent with the ball at his feet. He came into the side around this time last year and make some significant contributions along with Roman Pavlyuchenko, who was also rumoured to be leaving. I think he will be a great signing for Birmingham (a club I am a big fan of) and perhaps make the move permanent in the summer.

And of course, he scored that immense goal against Arsenal. Instant legend round our way :)

cheicknibbletiote what are you on about<erm>

We ant got Pennant<ok>

Hleb is a class player a major coup, only our Manager dont know how to use attacking players.

He is a defencive Manager and only knows how to use defencive minded players or those who are willing to defend.

Hleb if used often and played right could have been just what we are lacking, but McLeish used Larsson at RM as we mainly use a flat 4 midfield and either 2 Strikers or 1 Striker with a man in the hole.

And because Hleb does not defend as well as a Fahey, Bowyer or Larsson he is either played in the hole behind a Striker or dropped to the bench.

when the wings is where Hleb was best used.

"Bentley could prove to be a ready-made replacement for Sebastian Larsson, who is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with Newcastle."

Bentley is twice the player of Larsson. Newcastle were linked with Bentley on loan too but I suppose they've figured that a permanent signing - Larsson - at a reduced price is better for them at this time.

Bentley is a player who frustrates me. He has all the talent in the world yet his attitude seems questionable. Certainly, he is strongly rumoured to enjoy nightclubs and booze off the field.

And that's a real shame because I remember his form (and talent) for Blackburn and indeed his performance in Capello's first game in charge against Switzerland in Feb 2008.

He's exactly the kind of creative talent England's midfield is crying out for, rather than keep relying on the one-dimensional repeat-failures like Lampard and Gerrard. Bentley has the talent to have the England midfield built around him. I guess it's up to the man himself now.

Really hope he does well seems like a honest footballing guy, who i wish i had seen him done well at Tottenham but thats not the case!

Birmingham have got a good footballer there in Bentley who at time i think tried to hard at Spurs, saying he wants to be like Gazza and entertain, he just isnt that player so hopefully he will go back to basics and re-gain his confidence and maybe if he has a good end of season, still have a future at the Lane!

Great signing for Birmingham, could be a threat on set-pieces if he gets games!
