With Carlo at last saying that the squad needs new players who would you fellow Chelsea supporters like to see signed now and maybe next pre season? Surely there has got to be some bargain buys out there. We have some promising youngsters emerging but they won't be the heart of the club for another 3 or 4 seasons yet. I think we need another Central defender, Cahill or Cueller of Villa could be good. In midfield i think we need some wide players, whether they be pacey or plain effective, ashley young has always impressed, David Bentley could be available on the cheap, he's not the quickest but on his day he's a fantastic crosser of the ball, something that Kalou will never be accused of! Up front could be interesting, Agbon of villa is lightning fast, maybe to replace Anelka, Andy Carrol could be the tough Centre forward to replace Drogs. Your thoughts please folks

The 3 players I would like to see come in January are

Chris Samba (IMO as good as Cahill but would cost half the price)
Neymar (Anelka needs replacing quickly and I think he could be the man)
Kaka (loan, why not?)

I'd get centre back cover - huth? (redknapp already had about 6 centre backs and still got gallas as cover and thats exactly the sort of deal we shouldve done pre-season after letting carvalho go. Not having done so thus far is EXACTLY the sort of reason spurs and others have caught up with us and some teams are overtaking us.I'd also go for n'zogbia - one of the 2 or 3 best prem players i've seen this season. And its time for a rest for anelka - cant think of too much outstanding talent available at centre forward so nows the time to see if sturridge can make the grade with an extended run

N'Zogbia anyone?

Proven PL player.
Wont cost an astronomical amount.
Very attack minded player

The major problem of buying players will they fit the system. I see kanchelskis_legend mentioned Modric a top class playmaker but he wouldn't fit Chelsea at this time. Deco [probably passed his peak when Chelsea got him] never really looked a Chelsea type player even on a going day.

MrBlueBurns got it right with Kaka, who if he was anywhere near right would be an ideal fit for Chelsea, simply because his game has always been based on athleticism. The big but is he ever going to reach the heights he once had.

It would take a long time to change Chelsea's or any other teams style of play. Chelsea are basically based on strength, power and pace and any decline no matter how small will be magnified. Even though they won the EPL last season I thought there was evidence of decline simply because Utd were not playing brilliant football but Chelsea never pulled away from them. They would have 3/4 seasons before.

I don't know how you replace a Lampard pure energy, power and a goalscorer, been a magnificent player for Chelsea. Terry the same but they are showing visible signs of wear and tear.

Perhaps it is just me, but, I just do not see things as other people do.

Richar deller - Chelsea's problems have not been in defense. Up until this last week, we still had the best defence in the league. Individual errors against a team as dangerous as Arsenal cost dearly and the last minute goal against Villa was complacency and nothing to do with cover in defense etc etc

Carvalho left and Bruma has stepped up. Numbers wise, it is the same.

Londoner in exile returns - Terry has been good recently and if it weren't for many of his timely interventions, things could have been worse. Certainly, he will not play on and on a la Giggs and, say, Maldini, but he's not falling to pieces just yet. As for Lampard, he is one of the fittest and most athletic players there is. One injury, the longest single time out in his career, does not mark the 'visible signs of wear and tear'.

I'll repeat, the problems are largely up front! Drogba has suffered from malaria and this alone may be the reason why he has not been so prolific. Anelka is not firing. Between them, they won the golden boot the last two seasons and with Lampard out, of course we'll struggle without all those goals.

Evidence of this can be seen in the Birmingham game. Hat-fulls of chances, yet no one could take them!

You guys have lost the plot i know we are playing bad but doesnt mean we should lower our standards and buy average players like bentley, modaric, n zogbia, cahill and many more mentioned. There are fantastic players out there even young players that would suit chelsea and the systems we tend to play players like Jovetic, Muller, Dzeko( Think we missed that one though), Sakho, kjaer, and many more i cant recall exactly. all the above mentioned players are young and well within our reach

Here we go again - bad run of form - who can we sign? Told you several times - this is something to do with Ray Wilkins departing - he either brought something special to the training ground, or the players are protesting - it's too much of a coincidence!! Chelsea fans all know the squad is ageing - but they were doing just fine until Ray went - and could have seen this season out on a high. As for Andy Carroll - don't make me laugh - have none of you seen how he stacks up agaist top quality defenders? Maybe in a few years he might be good, but at the moment, he's not very special at all. Juat being 'a bit big' does not make you great!!

Just 3 player need for recruiting now when we are seeking long term plan. And all things of tempo will be change.

For Defense -
1. Villa
For Finisher -
2. Naymer
3. Aguero

Thats it.
For Midfield - No need recruitment when lampard and maluda is playing very well. Specially Maluda is playing well but not finishing good enough.

Essian need to improvment for accuracy and perfection of long short.
Lampard is good enough for another year. In this time we need a backup plan.

I do feel we are lacking an out and out "playmaker" type who can dribble past players.I know Zola was a one off, but we lack that kind of player now. Think modric, ozil, nasri, inniesta, david silva.. these players seem to be the focal point of their respective sides going forward, and i feel that's one area that Chelsea are definitely lacking right now
