Premier League
comment on the article

Lots for us to get our teeth in today, with five Premier League games starting at 1500 GMT... before Alan Pardew's first game as Newcastle boss, against Liverpool at 1730 GMT.

Speaking of unpopular managerial appointments, Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier badly needs a win against west-midlands rivals West Brom this afternoon... and West Ham manager Avram Grant will hope his side's recent improvement translates into three points against Manchester City. City will go joint top if they win.

Totally predictable result that you could see coming all week.

The third goal was the worst by a mile. Just inviting Carroll to take a pop, backing off, giving him all the time he needed to pick his spot under no pressure at all.

Great hit, mind. But it was like watching a practice match goal.

Lucas just jumped out of the way.

Another depressing away performance against, lets be frank, a very poor side in terms of their defense.

If Torres was a quarter of the player he was when he first joined us he would have got a hat-trick today with the number of chances he had.

Anyway, boxing now.

I think its pretty clear we wont be seeing 'Priest' Roy in the 'Mountain of Sugar'.

He needs to realise the 'white liquid in a bottle is milk'!

The whole Liverpool team was awful! The performance was woeful!! Again, Liverpool fell to poor goals, just like they did at White Hart Lane, Old Trafford, Britannia Stadium and Goodison Park.

Six atrocious performances away from home and a wake-up call by Blackpool at Anfield points to the fact that Hodgson's tactics is not working! I hope he'll do the honest thing and admit that the job is beyond his might.

Looking at our current record, Liverpool may possibly escape relegation courtesy of our 'lucky' home form.

I am so disappointed.
