I don't actually know why but I have a sneaky feeling our recent form seems to be a blessing. I have a suspicion that we will win our games against United, Everton, Spurs and Arsenal and all this would Be forgotten. If we take at least 10 points from these games it would be fantastic. Also, Arsenal and United will be playing each other within that period meaning one will drop points!

Along with that, JT, Lamps and the Bison should be back!

Dont look so gloomy Chelsea fans, look up!

Not really We all follow United

I've followed some of everton's games. To me Arteta isnt the lynchpin as he was before. Have you seen how deep he sits?

He rarely ventures into the penalty box apart from when they're playing Man Utd/Liverpool

He just passes and retreats back into centre midfield. Its a shame because I think he is a talent just needs to be played further up the pitch.

We have to beat Everton at the weekend, it's a must!

But we do need more of a squad. Letting Ballack and Carvalho go and not replacing them was a huge, huge mistake and I hate the board for makigng such poor decisions. Why could we not take Gallas back? Why? He would have done a job at the moment.

===============================================

A little melodramatic I'd say.

Carvalho wanted to leave, and Real were offering good money for a player of his age.

Ballack wanted a 24 month contract and big wages, which for a 34 year old just wasn't justifiable.

Gallas would've been a decent shout on a 12 month deal, but I'd rather look to the future and give Bruma a go.

(May I first note what an add username that is if you're a Chelsea fan.)

Letting Ballack and Carvalho go in itself is not a problem. With 17m to spend on a Ballack replacement, the question is, is Ramires up to it? So far, so indifferent. A couple of good things, but he hasn't stepped in as we would like.

Carvalho? Well, we still have the best defensive record in the league don't we. Carvalho hadn't really played much in the last year or two I don't think so why not use the opportunities when he might have played to use Ivanovic and Bruma instead.

There comes a time when you to have move on. If we'd have taken our chances at Birmingham and Newcastle we'd be sitting pretty but we didn't. But, the analysis of that does not lead me to think we are missing Ballack and Carvalho.

With the exclusion of those three key players,it has taken the steam out of our team.I believe we are still having bad times but we will surely bounce back. The only solution to our problem is to strenthen our squad when the transfer window opens. There has been question marks about our subs.banini,Tamale,Ghana.

Pirlo is my favourite player in the world. Have watched him from a very young age and I am Italian, before Chelsea fan. Hence the name. I had hoped Ancelotti would have forced the board to bring him to Chelsea when he took over but it didn't happen.

You all raise valid points as regards my comments about Carvalho and Ballack but you have misread what I have said. I do not care about the fact that we let them, the issue is that we did not replace them!

Our RBs are awful. Ivanovic is great in that position. However, with only two CBs and Bruma (who is not ready to play otherwise he would have been given a chance by now), Ivanovic will not return to playing at RB. We have TWO CENTRAL DEFENDERS and in this day and age that is simply not enough!

A suspicion or a desperate hope?
Against Everton is a distinct possibility.
Against Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United are far less likely, given the records of those three and Chelsea.
Never mind ... dreaming is good for you. <laugh>
